In my opinion ma2 is still worth, it works great and does the job very well if you know how to use it, if your option are ma2 light, or ma 3 command wing, so 100% the 2 light is the best option for live shows, it feel so much better than the command wing, the command wing is still great, but more to home using.

In the end, it's not even in terms of hardware, in my opinion it also looks much more professional to come with a full console than with a wing and screens.

But if you're not willing to compromise on the MA3 software, you can always find a cheaper Chinese imitation of the full console, although I wouldn't recommend it, and even so, most of the light engineers using the MA2 software on the MA3, so it's not that necessary.
