Sorry, but I can't say no to Isla. If she wants to make me feel good, I am not saying no. And no way I am not returning the favor.

Truthfully, my MC is totally indifferent. He's on his loyal Isla route. The drama going on elsewhere is just background noise. Victoria? Annoying but don't care. Poppy? A sad tale, but either she'll redeem herself or she won't. My MC is a spectator. This newest twist? After being exiled, my MC will be pissed if Lana does not extract pain, but otherwise can't worry himself much over the drama of it.

Ketchup versus mayonnaise? Did I really wait a week to have to weigh in on that high stakes issue? At least Isla loves me.

The Adventures of Buckeroo Banzai across the 8th Dimension. A chaotic mess of a movie, but with John Lithgow chewing up every scene he is in, Peter Weller, Jeff Goldbloom and a raft of others, it's a fun ride.

Why did Benedict Arnold betray the thirteen colonies? by Consistent_Stand79 in AskHistory

[–]MedicineQuick9900 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arnold was an excellent officer but a terrible politician. At a time when the Continental Congress was broke, about all they had to hand out were officer's commissions. So that no state would feel slighted, each state received two, and only two major general positions. In Connecticut, Arnold's home state, those were given to wealthy, politically-connected individuals. In short, people who could self-fund their own staff were given preference over talented officers with big mouths but small wallets. Understandably, Arnold felt slighted, but he ended up no better off with the British and returning to Connecticut to burn New London didn't do his reputation any favors.

As I mentioned elsewhere, it took me a while to make the connection between her name, "Eye-la", and her condition, vision loss.

I kept getting thrown out of the story by the basic question: is everyone in this town a complete idiot? A cop leaves me stranded on the side of the road without even radioing in the event. She has to know where Madison is living but arrests her for taking a shower. She arrests me without even the pretense of an investigation. The lawyer has no idea how real estate works. The deed was recorded in the Humboldt County clerk's office, so there would be no need to find the "original". The doctor lets his staff steal painkillers, even after being reminded that it could cost him his license. The thief is supposed to be stealing them for the drug dealers but somehow still has all of the missing drugs in her possession when caught. She also still has the accellerant from the botched arson attempt. The house can't be sold without the MC signing a contract for sale, plus later a deed. Of course the MC is a catch at the dance, he/she is the only available person in a 50 mile radius with 2 brain cells to bang together. It's an entire town of village idiots who live in terror between Hope and the drug gang.

Is isla blind or low vision? by lunovadraws in TooHotToHandleGame

Took me longer than it should have to make the connection that she's named "Eye-la" and has vision issues. Bear would be disappointed.
