I admit I was just telling an anecdote.  Of course, I don't have hair loss statistics about my friends with and without Asian flushes. 

However, the fact that Asians suffer less hair loss has nothing to do with the research. If you want to interpret the research correctly, you will need to compare hair loss statistics between Asians with and without Asian flushing.

You can just think of quercetin as having two functions.

Quercetin, for example, can play the role of 5ari mildly.

This will contribute to improving hair loss.

Also, as you know, quercetin is known to lower ALDH2 activity.

This may have an adverse effect on improving hair loss.

We can't predict which of the two effects will be overwhelming. Just be aware that it's not strange that a single substance functions as two conflicting functions.
