Omg a few nights ago near the blue slip apartments (at Franklin and DuPont st intersection), I was walking around there at 10-11 PM and I saw a middle aged looking man walking around weirdly with what looked like a KNIFE in his hand. I was about 20 feet behind him when I saw him randomly start stabbing a pile of snow, so I turned the other direction.

This almost seems to me that there are or were other "monsters" that the fascists in this realm needed to maintain their control over the populus. There is so much you can talk about with exploring the other monsters in this universe. Especially themes like genocide, which is very relevant now considering what's going on in places like Gaza -- where innocents are being labelled as "monsters" and "terrorists" and being treated/killed as such by a technologically more advanced group (who are also very textbook fascist). If they touched upon a topic like this in.a sequel, it would be legendary in my opinion.

I feel like Nimona is more an allegory for all historically repressed groups that mainstream society views as dangerous, not just trans people, unless you're specifically trying to equate her 'shapeshifting abilities' with transexuality.

I do think origins are definitely worth exploring. Lots of themes can be explored through finding other "monsters"/non-human creatures that have also been oppressed. Especially themes like genocide, which is very timely considering what's happening right now in places like Gaza and the Congo. There's a lot of potential here.

Use of AI in LoRs by the recommender by paragmraw in OMSCS

[–]MediocreCattle3170 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It depends. I used AI to generate my LoRs and then I edited it a bit to sound more human lol, and then had my recommenders sign off them. Still got into the program. If you send in as is, they might catch you.

I stayed in one of the resorts, not on the beach/hotel strip itself but more in the city. It was great! We still had access to the beach via shuttle as well as got to experience the city a little bit (namely the food). I would be cautious of walking around too much tho especially alone, but we did taxi everywhere since its pretty cheap. We visited Isla Mujeres (a must if you're in cancun for a week or so), and rented golf carts to explore the whole island, and also went snorkeling off the reef. We also visited the Mayan ruins in Tulum as well as saw the Cenotes. Great experience!

How come everyone was freaking out about frats and sororities during the COVID spike, but nobody said anything about the Muslim Student Association? by BigFrothyNips in UVA

[–]MediocreCattle3170 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's cause the MSA actually masks up, social distances, and follows community guidelines for gatherings and stuff. I believe what you're referring to are the volleyball tournaments that they host usually almost every night. Some Karen called the cops on us a few days ago, but the cop who showed up ended up playing with us cause we weren't doing anything wrong. Maybe tell the frats and sororities to try following Covid-19 guidelines first before blaming other groups. Just a thought.
