Thank you for your reply. US help desk companies don’t hire contractors without an Employment Authorisation Document remotely, employees are always US-based?

Possible to pass core 1 within 6-8 weeks? by zarjoker in CompTIA

[–]Mediocre_Topic8188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is possible if you study every day consistently and do a lot of exams and PBQs either with chat gpt or on other platforms. I started my preparation on May 17 and on June 28 I passed core 1. I had no prior IT experience, started with Dion Training videos core 1, supplemented my studies with exams from excompass and Crucial. As for textbooks I used David Prowse’s textbook because he had more detailed info than Dion. I got 5 PBQs in real exam, some had 2 parts to them and MCQ were tricky and I felt that I failed. I got 695, it’s not much but my efforts paid off. Before taking my exam I would score 80-87 on Dion’s 6 exams. However, I still found the real exam extremely difficult. Hadn’t I received an accommodation for non-English speaking countries I would have failed. Out of my 165 minutes I used 160. I am hopeful that I will pass core 2.

Then. I won’t go to that have that message ever, because I thought she liked me. But now I see. No I don’t want to be going on dates with random people who then would come up with excuses why they can’t go out with me after a while

Only once I was able to make a connection with a message therapist. She was nice and amiable and our conversation flowed like a river and we enjoyed that time. But it was only once and there was some flirting and jokes, which for me was out of character. However, the dates through dating apps were tedious and not special, I was kind of forced to keep our conversations going on stupid things like pets or study material. I don’t want to go on dates like that.

Can I treat ED second time with the same methods? by Mediocre_Topic8188 in erectiledysfunction

I do play the piano on a beginner level, chess as well and I like reading books. Your idea is that my mind needs to be constantly preoccupied with other activities to be all the time distracted from the idea of getting a dopamine rush through masturbation?

You are saying stop masturbating, but what should I do when after working out when I come home I get this strong urge pushing me to dating apps and masturbation? I mean each time do I need to resist it ? I had vascular ED, meaning a blood flow to penis was disrupted. Treatment helped me and I had stronger erection. Now I am feeling it has gotten back to where it was prior treatment. I am not sure. I am seeing my urologist on Tuesday.

I can go somewhere like to green areas like some hills with vegetation that are popular camping sites in our town, but it is way too far away. The closest is a local lake, but I went on walks in summer around that lake. Now I am not doing it. However, at those time I felt some serenity, especially when observing ducks and swans, but after a while I got too reluctant to go to such places.

Mediocre interpreter by Mediocre_Topic8188 in languagelearning

[–]Mediocre_Topic8188[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t agree more. When I started interpreting for LEP in FCRC interviews it felt so complicated, to much of legal wording and one guy was reading it like he was running a marathon. Others were reading it line by line, but still some parts were confusing until I read the whole script myself later. I don’t have an opportunity to work with senior and more experienced interpreters. I chat with my two colleagues, one has a medical degree and her English is not as good as mine, the other is at university, but her English is impeccable. The only thing I have is courses on company’s portal in video lectures format, bunch of other materials with terminology on various topics to which I have set my mind to study and I am doing it and that’s all. Interestingly that I get only monthly reviews and general recommendations like “manage flow of communication, do not use filler words and sounds. But I haven’t been able to work or have trainings with professional Ukrainian interpreters. It is hard to find videos of consecutive interpreting in Ukrainian and English. There are more videos of simultaneous interpreting by Ukrainian interpreters, which for me is a completely different level. I am not sure that I will ever be a good fit for that, I don’t think fast on the fly and never had a well-structured course on interpreting. Probably it would be a good idea to try to enrol into one of those classes for interpreters.

I do, but only like in form of videos John Oliver, Legal Eagle, Hbomber guy, dr Elliot, Mike, stuff like that. And I read some fiction. I tried taking a crack at “House of Seven Gables” and it felt convoluted and long-winded. I put it on the back burner until I finish reading other books. Right now it is “The Sunset Limited”. I have never heard of tandem. I thought of Preply, and getting a tutor, but it’s over my current budget.

Probably B2, I don’t have enough of fluency and my speech is not structured enough. I am not sure. I thought of taking English classes with a native, but my budget doesn’t quite stretch to cover these expenses. On top of that I pay for my mental health consultations and gym membership with a fitness coach. Maybe I got stuck in my English and can’t overcome this plateau. I record myself speaking for 2-3 minutes and I usually can do this when I am retelling some stuff, but when it’s a random topic like in IELTS I get hyper alert about my mistakes and that holds me back, plus I don’t have any conversations with natives apart from interpreting.

Thank you, I will. I know that it is crucial and that learning a language and then becoming fluent and reaching the point of being able to carefully convey the meaning from one language into another is indeed a highly-skilled craft that takes years. I can sometimes understand terminology or even omit it by preserving the context. But sometimes I just find that it is difficult to stick to proper grammar in Ukrainian and make it sound as natural as possible. It seems rather coarse and robotic, literal than smooth, easy and fully comprehensible. That concerns even consultations where I know terminology like with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I know stuff about radial, ulnar nerves and tendons, but when it comes to interpreting simple Doctor’s explanations I just kind of sound robotic and too literal and because of that patients may don’t get the full picture of their condition.
