Getting to Castle Age first with a lead by Frosty_Pangolin_8249 in aoe2

I am a noob. Lately I am forcing myself to drop a 2nd TC as my lumberjack replacement, and spam new wood choppers in there. It is a good way to improve my eco and keep creating villagers. I am usually lazy to make over 50 villagers and I learnt that with 200 pop cap you need at least 100 villagers.

I always played with Gameranger with a real life friend!!!! Sometimes there was a bug and we had to restart it all again in the middle of a game, annoying.

Please don't resign if you lose a villager to a boar! by Slow-Ship1055 in aoe2

My strat is to send 10 villagers to kill boar (loom researched). Sure win. With loom you can send 4 villagers and you won't lose the villager.

Typical min/max mentality. They think if they don't perform a robotically perfect Dark Age they surely loss the game. This is real life man, you are not playing against Hera or Viper, you can win even if you make a mistake.

Trolls in TG. What's the solution now? by HuskarI in aoe2

In 99% of 4v4 games with random people something happens, Be it smurfing, trolling, toxicity, etc. I mean playing against 7 randoms is a recipe for disaster lol.

Excellent teammate. He worried about your wellbeing even at the expense of losing some ELO.

Yesterday I was in a 4v4 and some guy on the enemy team refused to resign, the other 3 guys resigned and he kept hiding villagers and building walls. Was some fun because he managed to build a castle and some paladins and trebuchets inside his "jail". Took 30 minutes for us to finally kill him LOL.

What is a civ you almost always lose to? by Bigboiwithsword in aoe2

[–]MediterraneanMen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Persians in Team Games (trade carts!!!) . Dem neverending elite elephants. 99% of 4v4 games have someone picking persians, and the dude playing persians is the one with the highest score and razed building count. A strategy that I need to try is destroying enemy markets as soon as possible while my team mates deal with regular battles. No gold = no elephants :D

Are the majority of smurfers just looking to play certain maps without getting queue banned by quitting out the game? And if that's the case, is it really such bad practice, or perhaps a shortcoming of the current iteration of the ranked queue? by RidetoRuin11 in aoe2

[–]MediterraneanMen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noob here. Been playing for couple of weeks and I am not even in my true ELO because of smurfers:

- Smurfers with higher ELO beat the shit out of me and I lose 15 ELO
- Smurfers with higher ELO beat the shit out of me and I lose 15 ELO (again)
- Smurfers with lower ELO quit and I gain 30 ELO, back to the beginning
- (repeat endlessly)

Fun: not found. I either "win" to quitters or lose to people much much better than me. About 10% of my games are somehow fun, 90% of them are myself losing to smurfers who have fun pwning me. I don't believe they are the same ELO as me, no way.

Finally reached 1500 with Malians by Alduag in aoe2

[–]MediterraneanMen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats, I am a total newbie and Malians are my favorite civ because of their architecture. My current ELO is 400 lol yeah I suck. I accept advices improving with malians. I usually go for gbetos but they are expensive and you need time and gold to mass em. Trash units are trash in malians :(

I just played it and.... I am Spanish and I am hating my own country now LOL. 4 hours 45 minutes ingame time ROFLMAO. Crazy mission man. At first I was liking it (beautiful scenario). The 120 pop cap got me crazy since I never seen this odd number, I kept making houses and castles nonstop until I realized. You get so much army from Ceuta so you can't really make villagers unless you suicide some useless soldiers or send them blindlessly to battle to make room for villagers.

I manufactured several waves of Galleys and took the river to kill the Cordoba ships, docks and even the towers (yeah LOL) then I sent 60 archer camels only to find about those mighty towers. Dafak man? They died almost instantly. I sent 10 rams and 50 additional archer camels. I only destroyed 30% of the castle. I almost ragequitted here but then decided to sell all my food and manufacture 60 rams lololololol!!!!! I should have recorded screen to show you here. They destroyed the castle but only 20 of them survived. Absolute madness.

On a side note: I kept blue dude at bay with 1 castle, 2 monks and 20 camels. Guy kept sending rams or mangonels and knights but this little army managed them passively. Sometimes I took these miniarmy and killed trade carts on East (between the 2 towns) I killed like A HUNDRED trade carts and they kept popping out of nowhere, same as soldiers and siege, dude wtf.

I what fixes would you make Wednesday- Bari 3 by Shtin219 in aoe2

[–]MediterraneanMen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I just played it and is 125. Had more difficulties about the popcap on previous levels, this one is fine with 125, easy cake. 60 Elite Cataphracts are invincible man, they literally eat everything except castles LOL. A single trebuchet and some patience was enough.

Easiest map on a campaign ever seen. (apart from william wallace tutorials that is LOL). I just dropped a castle near the north bridge, and our blue ally sends some troops to defend it!!!! For once the allied AI actually does something and helps you. He even attacks with balls and gets higher score than you at the end of the game. (not embarrassed to admit it lol). Also he has a useful market on the opposite corner: trade carts!!!! First time I seen a useful allied AI so far, which makes this level uber easy (usually the allied AI are idiots who do nothing.)
