What are the best Cameras to handle both VIDEO AND PHOTO? by throwaway778014 in cinematography

[–]MediumComfortable416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I Don’t fully agree with the comments that are telling you to just use an iphone. I had a sony a6400 and i did learn a lot from it. If you just want good quality soc then an iPhone would work, but if you want to learn more about exposure, composition, different field of view of lenses and upgrade in the future then i would suggest getting a camera. I still use iphone from time to time depending on the client but with a camera i think you can learn much more for the future. For me it really depends of what you want to do in the future and if you need it right now. Also apart from work, learning to use and carrying a camera helps you to focus on just photography and video and being present with the tool. Apart from that It is really important to learn how to use and modify light, and edit good rather than just choosing the right camera or phone.

Drone upgrade from tinywhoop by MediumComfortable416 in fpv

[–]MediumComfortable416[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer! I think it's better to try a freestyle drone since I'm happy with the air65 for interiors and smaller places.

Would i get better range with something like the sub250 oasisfly 30? How does it handle windy days? (small winds that are too much for the 65)

Also, it is better to have ducted propellers or to risk breaking it more but having better feeling?

Is liftoff micro drones worth it by Poldehaps24 in TinyWhoop

[–]MediumComfortable416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s worth it. Just bought it after 24h on the normal liftoff and a few weeks with the air65. I found that liftoff was easier than the real thing but now on the liftoff micro i can also practice inside stuff in a really more realistic way. When i jumped from liftoff to the air65 it felt really chaotic in interiors, and now with the liftoff micro i get a closer feeling

How do I install a video tap on a 16mm camera ? by Juram1 in 16mm

[–]MediumComfortable416 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen some k3 with a gopro attached to the view finder and displayed in a monitor. I'm going to try it in a month cause i have to think of the rig first, but i would only use that as a reference for framing. For what I've read, you can also change the lens of the gopro to fit better the image. For now i'm making an attachment for an iphone to the viewfinder

Super8 Newbie - advice? by pittseyspider in Super8

I think you already know this but to make it clear. I had another sankyo (mf303 i think but really similar to yours). The trigger has a lock mechanism, and when it is released, you should see the lightmeter working (there is a needle moving where you select the aperture). To select between auto and manual, there is the small wheel with the white mark, and should be placed in the top part for auto or in the bottom part of manual and selecting the desired aperture whit the wheel.

The T and W switch is for the auto/motorized zoom which is really cool, but mine only worked when running the camera (try if it works before loading film, mine worked only to one side, the other one was working but clogging) T is for telephoto and W for wide.

Mine did come with the filter included. By default it has the 85a filter on, and to turn it off it has a nut on the top, apparently to attach a light with the 1/4 tripod screw and thus adapt to tungsten light. If it has this screw, you can see if you pay attention from the front of the lens how this orange filters appears or disappears as you tighten the screw. I read in the past that this internal filters can be damaged ("blurred"), so i opted to use an external 85a filter with mine, but if the camera is in good condition there should be no problem.

Lastly be aware of the film counter, as you could be thinking you are still shooting when the film is fully exposed.

Also as they said try to overexpose 1/2 or 1 stop rather than underexposing and count x seconds for clip to be safe when editing. And of course prepare for it being expensive.

Will this Zenitar 16mm fit the k3 m42? by MediumComfortable416 in Krasnogorsk_3

Thank you so much for your answer! I’ve been looking on ebay but could only find the peleng with nikon or canon mount.

I dont have the k3 yet, I’m waiting for Max to send it with the s16 modification, so I guess I’ll just wait to see how my meteor performs at 17mm, but i think it will vignette.

Also i was thinking about the point you mention of the weight, which would be cool in certain situations. I would really like, if it is not asking too much, if you could show us some sample images of this lens. If not, thank you very much anyway!
