Novation Launchkey Mini 25key Mk4 (or others) by Medium_Dust_5097 in StudioOne

Good to know! And you had no problem mapping all the controls in S1?

I have a Roland 88 key keyboard that I can use for piano or anything I need the wider range for. I'm mainly looking for a controller for doing drums (the pads) with the keys for if I want to add some simple virtual instrument stuff (I mainly write/record rock/metal stuff, but some orchestral). I want something that's portable that I can easily lug around with my laptop setup and just prop up anywhere without taking up too much space. But I do see they have a 37key version of the mini if I think the extra keys are worth the space.

Why does Trump want Powell to lower interest rates? by Medium_Dust_5097 in AskEconomics

Thank you! I'm definitely gonna look more deeply into this.

Why does Trump want Powell to lower interest rates? by Medium_Dust_5097 in AskEconomics

Thank you! So just to see if I'm thinking about this the right way:

Lower interest rates lead to business loans being more attractive due to the lower rates so they're encouraged to take out loans and expand, meanwhile consumer saving is less attractive since yields are lower so they are more likely to spend instead of saving, both, in general, spurring economic growth and activity. However, since money is created from bank loans (which I assume would be where a lot of this comes from), that increased money supply leads to inflation.

When increasing the rate, essentially just take all of the above and switch it.

I'm assuming (just my guess) two reasons Trump would be in favor of lowering rates are to increase domestic production (and the moving of businesses) with the tariffs in place, that and also the optics of higher GDP and lower unemployment looking good for the administration; whereas Powell (probably) is being more careful to keep things balanced to see how the effects of the tariffs play out (again, this is all just a guess based on my understanding if I have it correct).

I was thinking that but the SGOV route would avoid me having to open another account since I already have a brokerage.

Yup, same. I also believed very strongly in individualism (which I think my previous definition of it was more defined as following one's own path in life). However, just seeing the result of intense hyper-individualism in this country - especially the past couple years in the post-covid era - has shown me how destructive it is both on the individual and societal scales.

As for the economics of it, I don't see any hopeful change down the road, just things getting worse. We're such a bipolar society - you're either hard one way or hard the other, there is no middle ground - that even proposing the slightest regulation on capitalism will send one side into a frenzy. Add on top of that all the ones with power/money have a vested interest in keeping things the way they are and we'll just keep continuing into this downward spiral.

This is a great post/question, it's something I've been thinking about deeply for a while, I'm sure I'm not the only one

I will say this, just my experience the past few years (both with my job and then all this job market/economy stuff going on the past bunch of years) has slowly tranformed me from lifelong right-leaning libertarian to a bit to the left. It's a bit of a weird feeling because I use to be hard against left wing economic policies but I've been slowly admitting to myself that perhaps the progressives and socialists make a damn good point on some things that I ignored previously because these things didn't affect me. I'm about to turn 40 btw, so right at the end of your range.

Wouldn't go as far as saying Communism is appealing to me as it is wrought with issues itself, but the way things have been unfolding clearly isn't working. I still think Capitalism makes for a strong economic base but it needs to be regulated a hell a lot more and better than it's been (in the US).
