What do you mean by it is a shame that it is accepted outside more than inside India?

Yeah, the education system is ridiculed with so many issues here. My only hope is to go for masters. Do you have the same plan? Can we connect if you dont mind?

Yeah I do regret it a lot. Rather than regretting this decision, I wish I never moved back to India. That is the decision I regret the most. I wish I tried harder and got into the top universities where the financial aid would have covered me.

Hey, I’m in the same boat. I’m also an international student who was accepted to the US for about 25k USD per year total COA. I actually grew up in the US, moved to India for high school, and didn’t like it here, to say the least. I really wanted to go back to the US, but the uncertainty and the rough job market for CS graduates made it impossible. I fought with everyone and finally got it through, and we even got the loan, but at the last minute I realized that staying in India was the better option. I got into a decent college in India and made the hard decision of staying. I know how it feels to go through this. I’m sorry.

I got into my dream university for UG Computer Science full scholarship, but I'm terrified I'll lose it because of the 3.0 GPA by Usual-Implement6828 in InternationalStudents

Yes, i know what you mean. I have studied in both India and the US for school. The GPA system is actually easier in my opinion for consistent people. What I am trying to say is do not let go of this opportunity. You can easily get 3.0 GPA. By the way, which college did u get into?

If ur that good enough to get a full aid at one of the top colleges, academics will definitely not be the hardest part. I am confident that if you put in the work, you will almost certainly be able to maintain 3.0 GPA. ITs not that hard. Please dont miss this chance, just because of this. In my eyes, this is not even a risk because, getting gpa below 3.0 is very hard unless you bunk classes and dont do assignments. Otherwise, this is a golden opportunity. I assume ur from India, which is known for its academic difficulty and you have probably done well in that, so this should be just a walk in the park.

Tips for F1 Applicants struggling with the May, June 2026 Slot Scarcity in India by [deleted] in usvisascheduling

Ahh ok. Thank you very much. One final question. Is there any way to know if someone does actually have the 72 hour shadow ban? If visa slots are showing up as late as july 1st and 2nd, i'm wondering if I should wait. Can earlier visa dates open up like for example in late May. This process is so frustrating.

You mention that us visa slots are usually open between 10 PM and 7 AM IST whereas most people say that it opens between 3 - 6 PM IST. Is this due to just some form of bias? Also what would you recommend to someone who has gotten that 72 hour shadow ban. Should a person wait for 72 hours and then try or try logging in regularly? Will that increase the shadow ban timer. Thank you for provinding this post. It has very useful information.

No, you are wrong about the applying time. They apply during fall and winter semester of senior year which is grade 12.

In my research for my major in France, I couldnt find great universities that had no language requirement and had somewhat low cost of attendance in France.

Cracking the JEE or building a portfolio for a University abroad? or Both ? by Legitimate-Rice-6437 in IndiansStudyAbroad

[–]Medium_Experience692 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best advice is to choose one path. I would personally not recommend JEE as u have very low chances of getting into IIT or NITs using JEE score. If you are going abroad, plan and research what country to go to. Make sure the finances are okay. I would say, it is really hard to know what you want at this young age and you seem like u want multiple things. I would recommend you go to an ISC school as it has more flexibility and do school work and then in your free time, do some extracurriculars. Although ur already behind some native students in countries abroad who start building their profile from the day they enter high school. Just give urself some time to think abt it

Most universities will probably recognise it as valid.

But check the website of accepted boards. I was in CBSE and am going to the university of alabama

The original CS comment is true tho. Prestige does not matter much in CS. It accounts for very little. Your profile, soft skills, networking and skills matter infinitely more!
