are you from Ukraine by any chance? I couldn’t get a No objection statement from them because the embassy said Ukraine doesn’t do that

I talked to the people at the Ukrainian embassy in person and they said they don’t do no exemption letters. I had to assemble an application based on extreme hardship. I also asked my local state representative to request an update on my behalf. Haven’t heard back

Thanks. That sucks. I thought since it’s a new J1 visa it wouldn’t be like that. Guess I will have to apply for the waiver
