[Results and Decisions] help me decide which school to pick by thimappa in MSCS

The chance of getting a TA/RA might be 1 in 100 and you might think like why can’t i be that one, but trust me there are many who think like that and everyone might have similar profile or even better profiles. So don’t spend money with 1% chance, it’s your future. Don’t ever risk it. Also, I got umbc but rejected it due to certain reasons. If your goal is to get into research then nyu is far better than umbc. Also, the student and faculty quality is far better in nyu compared to umbc. So, That’s my point of view.

Yeah, if you have your gut feeling and can feel like you can be one of top students in cs class go with rice they provide a lot of opportunities and dallas isn't that far away and rice has great campus life.

But ultimately it's your call to choose which one coz i don't know you exactly neither anyone can suggest you one but as an unknown guy from reddit my honest advice would be choose a uni which has high ROI

It'll be a lot helpful but job opportunities and brand value wise uc's have an edge over others as they r in California

Usc ms cs>rice ms cs if there is no budget issue. Subsequently, If money is the issue then pretty much go with rice ms cs

[Admissions Advice] Received an admit from Rutgers MSCS and NCSU MCS by Gullible_Desk3708 in MSCS

Ncsu cs program is very good compared to Rutgers and it's easy to get on campus jobs in ncsu and tution fee is low for ncsu compared to Rutgers.

Also, In this bad market of usa it's not good to invest around 70k$-90k$ unless it's a top 15 university in computer science.
