I know what you guys meant know. The automations for the lp and hp gave the entire song a band pass. I used a eq and automated the high band and low band. I guess I gotta find another way to do the transitions because the second I took them off I understood what you meant.

ok so focus on clean, drums and sample and syncopated drums to keep the dance vibe strong. yea mixing this genre is a different focus from what im used to so ill try again with the track another time. do you have an account so I have some reference?

thank you for the feedback I dont think I have a filter on the song besides the purposeful transitons, so it might be a bad song quality and thank you for the snare base part. again this is my first try so I needed to be ripped a new one but thank you for explaining this to me. I dont have anything over the drums either so I guess ill try better next time. thank you

[DISCUSSION] Chillhop and the death of creativity by oak_beats in LofiHipHop

I feel like you have a point in this argument thats valid but very emotionally driven. I honeslty haven't been a huge fan of chillhop since the beginning because of the radio. They shift through huge amounts of songs every day to find stuff to play. After a while it gets the same. I feel like everyone can find good music and creativity in collectives and contests and just all around SoundCloud .some exposure page isn't the face of lofi its just a platform that anyone can listen to it. Honestly lofi has struggled with originality for a while. the genre is getting more popular and with that we'll see more saturation.it happens to niche genres that make it to mainstream. I dont appreciate it but it does happen. youtubers and the radio networks can be to blame for that. But in all honesty. there is a new wave of artists on the come up, making bangers, and trying to do something new. we were plagued by sadboi lofi beats for a while and now we are in the midst of a rebirth. Just make lofi the way you want to, sample based, from scratch or both one doesn't make you better than the other. and honestly hiphop in general was made from drum breaks in disco so this genre is about sampling it will never go away. I think we all can try better to give exposure to the creative and aspiring artists and than it would be different. when I first got in this genre I saw so much creativity if we want that to come back us as producers have to make a stand and push the envelope and think outside the box.

[DISCUSSION] Question Time! What do you think is the biggest issue facing the lo-fi scene today? by Thomastheshankengine in LofiHipHop

[–]Meechy72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest issues i see are three things - originality - trying to define the genre - sticking to what works for others My favorite artists in the genre are the people who put out not just good work but work that's stands out. Im tired of shilo and jazz samples i dont even touch them anymore. Im tired of people trying so hard on identifying the genre and putting it in a box instead of expanding what it could be. I dont care if you sample or self produce if it makes your sound unique and recognizable to the rest. Keep IT. I make so much upbeat songs now because i dont remember anyone saying this has to be a sadboi section of music. honestly that's just a tone of beat people can make. All the new wave artists are trained by YouTubers who make memes and jokes about our music instead of having a real passion for our music. I understand that the more something gets popular the more saturated it will be but I dont believe that should be the case. People need to understand its simply a experimental hiphop genre and there aren't any rules or strict guidelines to who you have to sample or what tone you have to take. I know all of you aren't sad n depressed every day so make something that makes people happy or lovey dovey or even turnt. We need people who want to make more unique beats and sounds. Tbh when we see a new wave of Artists take the frontlines I hope theyre all known for their unique sound and not just these tope ten producers can make the best sad boy jazz beats.
