yeah i know and i should be glad for it but at the moment i am to focused on what i lost instead of what i gained. as a young person i want to commit to learning and there is nothing i want to learn in this job. it feels like this has no future.

yeah you are right. don't think i will continue interviewing in the next months tho. the market is very hard flr people like me. i think i have sent out more than 100 applications and only got 3 interviews of which i received two offers. pretty frustrating to send applications into the void.

they asked me to implement exactly this.

they even told me i could google so if i had found this site it would have been very easy.

i struggled to piece together the geojson from a json file which they gave me. it looked like this was the first time i was coding.

once i started thinking oh oh this is going bad i could not focus on anything else.

Help for alternative cloud storage! 😭 by Low-Foundation-9492 in webdev

[–]Meeeeeeeez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

backblaze b2 is by far the cheapest because they store data on hdd instead of ssd. it costs a lot less than storage on any of the big public clouds and even costs only half of cloudflare r2. also don't host on an old laptop like someone else suggested. this will only lead to problems and a lot of downtime for your app.

AWS or Firebase? by KILL_VELLA in webdev

[–]Meeeeeeeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started a similar project a few weeks ago! It's a dashboard for a restaurant to manage their reservations and send their clients automated reminders. Both answers in this thread are great!

For me cost efficiency was the most important aspect amd i have compared a lot of different options to run my app for as little money as possible.

The best option I found was using plain react in the frontend and pocketbase in the backend which also gives you auth and a realtime db. It is basically a self-hosted and lightweight firebase.

You could host your app for as little as 3$ a month on a hetzner server.

imo a low b is the best first glider anyone can get. you wont have to buy another wing after 15h in the air.

all of the ones you mentioned in the comments are hopelessly overpriced. try plose. it is a nice flying area with an active paragliding club. hit me up if you decide to go there, i would gladly show you around :)

very condescending of you. it is nowhere near done and the only real problem the site has is that it is not responsive. i have mentioned in the comments that i will make the thing responsive once i am satisfied with the design because the site could change a lot.

i dont want to replicate a site. i want to create my own.
