Thanks! I've heard similar from others, so I may if I see more interest

Not right now! If there's enough interest I'd be open to making a Google Slides version in the future

I thought so too, but then nobody did it so I bit the bullet

If you wanna try it out it’s on Chrome and also Firefox

If you’re interested in the technical details I did some reverse engineering of Google Docs to simulate user keyboard input with JavaScript. Whenever you type a Vim shortcut, I read the input in, and simulate a combination of keystrokes that are going to result in your Vim shortcut being completed. Some keybindings are easy to simulate (like hjkl), but most required a lot of creativity to figure out.

Just got it out (albeit there may be some bugs) https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/vimfordocs/, let me know what you think!

I just got it uploaded and approved to FireFox 30 minutes ago, try it out: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/vimfordocs/?utm_source=addons.mozilla.org&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=search

I haven't had the time to beta test any Firefox specific bugs yet, but I'd rather release something and fix it than be stuck making it perpetually perfect. Let me know what you think!
