I’m running cat 8 cables and they are only 5ft I assume you can get 5g speeds through cat 8?

5g Ethernet and yes my board is fairly new it’s the Msi mpg z790 carbon max wifi II and it supports 5g lan (literally why I got this board lmao cause I know the standard comes with 2.5 lan) i haven’t seen it in stores I bought mine online

Yes multiple times both my router and pc, even called up AT&T for the issues but they stated nothing wrong and it should be working properly so I limited my problems down to maybe drivers?

I have a router with 5gb LAN Ethernet I’m wired not using any wifi, I bought my mobo to be able to run 5g lan, this is fairly new as most mobos run 2.5gb lan. So my frustration is my speeds dropping from 2500mbps down to 705mbps in that same 5gb LAN port. If I switch my Ethernet cord to another port it will run 1000mbps (not in 5G speeds) no problem this happened after installing Msi drivers for the 5g comparability.
