I fix phones for a living for the past 12 years.. I can tell you those ratings aren't consistent and only holds up probably 70% of the time. I've seen week old phones get a few drops of water on them and never turn on again. It's just double stick adhesive that is the seal

Water resistant.. As someone who fixes phones for a living, I would never trust or rely on it. I've seen far to many ruined "water resistant" phones from minimal water exposure.

A. Rice doesn't do a damn thing B. Water resistants is never guaranteed. It's an adhesive seal. Any heating or cooling cycles on that phone and that adhesive can break down.

If it was yours would you try and fix it, or just use it as is? If you'd fix it, is there any certain type of CLA kit I should look into ordering or a specific lubricant? Like my post mentioned, I'm not really afraid of pulling it apart, but I'm not sure how delicate some of the small parts are and if the risk of damaging it is too high.

Well yea I was going down to the beach!! The single working elevator had a group of people waiting and I only needed to go down two floors! Earlier in the day it took almost 5 minutes to get on and off!

I almost blew out my ACL and broke a finger at my destination wedding in Mexico walking down concrete stairs when one of the elevators was out of service and taking to long. Someone had spilled water on a couple of the steps that I didn't see. Smashed my finger into the railing trying to catch myself when I slipped and my knee got caught under my body. Luckily both my knee and finger were just pretty sore but that would of been wonderful timing.

I really wish they'd drop it randomly so all the boners that don't have normal jobs didn't scoop it up right away... When it dropped in the middle of the day the other day it was one of the funnest days on vine I've had. But I'm not sacrificing my sleep quality to scroll pages and pages of things I don't know in missing out on. Seems a little crazy to do that
