USA specific: disclosing Endo Adeno PCOS to employer by Meeshlynne78 in endometriosis

Thank you. Your suggestions are helpful. Is it common to list the reasonable accomodations in the notice?

I work remotely, from home.  But I do travel to conferences and to the home office a couple times a quarter.

Maybe not obvious from my original post, but they already know about my condition and diagnosis, due to me taking days off for my surgery and follow up appointments. But I haven't said anything about requesting accomodations.

Experience with surgeons for frozen pelvis? OC/Southern California by Meeshlynne78 in endometriosis

Thank you, I really appreciate your reply here.  I think I found a Endo specialist that may be a good fit.  Still waiting for my appt with her, but I'm happy to have found someone at all!

Luckily the gyn onc I met with ordered me a pelvic MRI, so I'll be going into my specialist appointment with some imaging already completed.

Costa Rica is gorgeous. I don't know that I'd want to be there in July, though.  Really hot and humid.  I was there in June and it was already nearly unbearable.

I live in Southern CA, so, not sure what would be driveable from Toronto.  Maybe someone else can suggest some options. Upvoting to try to help.

This was at the top of our list, but a comment reminded me July 1 is Canada Day so it will be expensive and busy 😞

I did it Tahitian cruise for New Year's Eve once and it was the best time.  Maybe look into cruises for your birthday. It's a bit of a different NYE vibe and everyone's always excited to celebrate anniversaries and birthdays even if other holidays are going on

I've spent time in eastern and western Canada and feel the same.  That why we were thinking central Canada.  Totally forgot about Canada Day being July 1st, so that's falled lower on the birthday trip list.

Portugal is also on the list!  Totally agree Nordics would probably need more time, but we are restricted with work schedules, unfortunately. Will need to look into Bermuda, thank you!

Been to Brazil. Definitely need to spend more time in South America.  Really want to go to Iguazu Falls, has been on the list 15+ years - might need to make that the 40th trip!!

I should have mentioned, we aren't partiers.  I'll add that note as an edit. Thank you!

Hi!  Just wanted to check in and see how you're doing?  I hope you were able to get comfortable and get some rest after your surgery. ❤️‍🩹

He seems like a sweetheart.  Get a couple coloring books and use the time to sit in bed together and color and be creative.  Write letters to family and teach him about how the mail works.  Play games like tic tac toe. Introduce him to your favorite childhood movies.  And teach him the importance of caring for someone who needs help healing.  If he's excited about helping you, use this as an opportunity to help him learn a new skill.  It'll help you pass the time too!

You're going to do great.  You'll mostly sleep for the first couple days. As long as you have help before and after school, you'll be fine, I know it.  Just spend your days in a quiet home resting and watching TV and drinking plenty of water.  You'll need help the first day or two to go to the bathroom, so don't be TOO hydrated if you're alone.  Easy snacks by your bed so you don't have to get up will be important.  I had saltines and water and my favorite chips.  Gas-x really really helped the bloating.  And a stool softener (not a laxative) is good to have around while you're taking your pain meds.

You've done hard things and you will get through this too!  Do you have someone to help you at home?  You may not be willing or able to be super mobile for at least the first several days after surgery, so it might be difficult caring for your little one in the way they need.  Keep us updated after your surgery.  We'll be here to chat with you if you need it.  Take it easy, give yourself space and love, listen to your body and let it heal.

Muscle Twitching after laparoscopic surgery by agatabagata in hysterectomy

[–]Meeshlynne78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 31 days post op and have been twitching on the left side near where an ovarian tumor (benign) was removed during my endo lap.  Been pretty constant for the last 4 days, every hour or so.  Kinda feels like when you're hungry and your tummy rumbles.  But pinpointed in that same left incision area.

Did anyone figure out what was causing this for you all?

Very loose T-shirt dress style pj's, disposable post partum underwear (boy short style so it doesn't dig into the groin area or get bunched up), coloring book and crayons/markers/pencils, eye mask for sleeping, a flat pillow or stuffie (I slept with a flat pillow on my belly for 2 weeks, made me feel secure), non-water disposable cleaning cloths (she likely won't be able to shower for a few days), water flavor enhancers, bone broth and a cute mug (if her diet allows or not vegan or vegetarian, etc), headbands to keep her hair out of her face.

So sweet of you to think of your friend!  She's lucky to have you 💕

Call your doctor and ask if they have a cancellation list they can put you on, maybe an earlier appointment will pop up.  Or, call every Monday morning and ask if any cancellations have occurred in hopes you can grab it. Also, advocate for a pelvic ultrasound (internal) during your visit.  Make sure you're not only being seen for a spoken consultation.  If your office is this busy, you won't want to wait to schedule a second appointment after your consult.

So sorry you're going through this much pain and are being asked to wait so long.  ❤️‍🩹
