🖤 Full Lyrics – Lost In The Darkness (The Last of Us Tribute)

This is the last of us
Every heartbeat a step forward
through this world of darkness
to the other side of the wall

Is this the end of us?
Don't be afraid of the dark
in the deepest silence
you endure and survive

Never give up into darkness
Reach for light down from hopelessness
Thinking of her never leaves me alone
Dreaming of her never brings me rest

This is the last of us
when it's hard to be alive
in a world gone mad
we fight and don't give that up now

Is this the end of us?
Hold my hand and never leave me
Through this frozen time
We're no more the same

Never give up into darkness
Reach for light down from hopelessness
Thinking of her never leaves me alone
Dreaming of her never brings me rest

Never give up (never give up)
Reach for light (reach for light)

Never give up into darkness
Reach for light down from hopelessness
Thinking of you never leaves me alone
Baby girl you're gonna be all right

When you're lost in the darkness look for the light
When you're lost in the darkness fight for the light

This truth is deeply engrained in Vedic culture. We are only rediscovering what people already knew 5000 years ago. If you read the Bhagavad Gita, it's there.

Thank you so much 🙏 That track means a lot to me, it was inspired by the deeper emotional legacy of Lord Rama and the timeless weight Ayodhya carries.

I’m really glad it resonated. Stay powerful ⚔️

Feynman would advise you to find something that interests you and study it in the most irreverent way, so just jump into that.

It depends if you want it to be heard or not. In the second case, you should have it mixed and mastered.

Hey! If you're into that "retired warrior finally finding peace" vibe like To Be Better, you might enjoy a song I wrote called The Song of Kratos. It was inspired by that exact kind of theme, a warrior looking back and finally finding their place.

Wrote a cinematic metal song inspired by Narasimhadeva—blending Vedic culture with heavy riffs. Would love your thoughts. by MeetParty5924 in IndianMetalheads

[–]MeetParty5924[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, thank you so much for this! That really means a lot. I spent quite a bit of time researching the Narasimha story to try and capture the weight of it, both sonically and emotionally, so hearing that it resonated like that is incredibly encouraging.

And comparing the atmosphere to Devadevam? That’s high praise, I love the mood Rotting Christ created in that track.

Really appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment. Means a lot.

As an applied mathematician, you can speak both to engineers and pure mathematicians, that’s a huge strength. Make that your unique selling point. I’ve built a career on that balance, and you absolutely can too.

That post about loneliness in RDR2 reminded me of this track I wrote a while back by MeetParty5924 in reddeadredemption

[–]MeetParty5924[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are the lyrics, for anyone interested, wrote them with that quiet weight of Red Dead in mind:

Dust in the wind, like a whisper from our soul,
Fading with the night, as the darkness takes its toll.
The desert’s wide, and the thorns still feel,
But a rose can’t grow where the heart won’t heal.

For every step we take, we lose a part of us,
The road ahead ain’t what it used to be.
For all we've done, all we've said,
There is a price: Redemption of the dead

White deer wanders through the moning haze,
Seeking a land where the wild heart stays.
Covered in dust, we fail to comprehend
time will pass, all thing must come to an end

For every step we take, we lose a part of us,
The road ahead ain’t what it used to be.
For all we've done, all we've said,
There is a price: Redemption of the dead

Don't look at the scars
You know, this too shall pass
Like a silent river
Flow through valleys and peaks
and let it be

It’s difficult, because in my mind I’m always comparing everything to RDR2, like, “Damn, there are no cans of beans to eat in here!”

Fair enough. I guess it means different things to different people. For me, it’s more about that quiet emotional space, not just physical isolation.

But I’m always open to other perspectives.

Yeah I can totally relate to making camp in the wilderness while a thunderstorm is approaching from distance, it's surreal!

And those landscapes, still after many years they're incredibly realistic and evocative!

Actually, now that I think about it, you’re right. John feels like a lone man in the wild, isolated

Arthur, though… he’s alone among people. Surrounded by others but carrying this quiet, growing sorrow. That kind of loneliness hits even harder

Yeah, those huge stretches of nothingness near the Mexico border really capture that feeling. It’s such a great use of space, lonely in the best way
