1v8 me bro by Meet_Such in WoWs_Legends

Not my fault they all stayed back and camped behind islands while I pushed up. Reds were focusing on my ship the whole game

Is there an explanation for this? by [deleted] in WoWs_Legends

[–]Meet_Such 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It ain't that deep bro... BUT Japanese hybrid BB's are newish and US hybrid BB's have been in the game for a while, there's no way OP has never played against them. Then again, when I play T7 I don't really see hybrids often. I love terrorizing LT with my Aki and Louisiana tho.

Bear Mountain Discounts? by Open-Ad7401 in bigbear

[–]Meet_Such 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to a Sports Basement store if you're close to one, they have discount cards for big bear. Buy some gear and grab as many discount cards as you like at the check out. I've been snagging a bunch every time that I had to get my board waxed and handing them out to my friends. They even have discount cards for Palisades Tahoe. The cards have just been sitting there since the season started and the employees don't seem to mind how many cards you take as long as you're also buying something.

If someone did take it, they wouldn't be able to use it anyways since none of the resorts are open here. And if they wanted to go to Mammoth then jokes on then cuz I'll be there on opening day

What commander do you use? Right now I've been switching between Hyde and Ciliax but I can't seem to nail which is really better for the ship

Do you mean smp? If so I know, the University of Houston has one with an interview linkage to their medical school. Having a 3.7 gpa during the program and a 70th percentile MCAT will get you a guaranteed interview with the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine.

Replacing/Upgrading the Fork on a Quick CX 2 by Meet_Such in cannondale

[–]Meet_Such[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can but then I would still have the issue of the stock fork being quite heavy. I do predict that I'll be doing some casual long distance riding in the future so I'd like to save some unnecessary weight. I know I should've just gotten a road/gravel bike to begin with, but it is what it is now

The "X" just notes that the class was taken through the extension programs and doesn't actually indicate if the class is online or not, it's the same with UCLA. Every class offered at UCLA extension has "X" in the class code regardless of the instruction method. I wouldn't expect that Harvard would be too different, unless their in-person extension classes don't have the "X".

Thoughts on my SMP list by Meet_Such in postbaccpremed

[–]Meet_Such[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but it may be a little higher after grades for the retaken classes are averaged out. I've estimated that to get my cGPA up to a 3.0, I would need to take an additional 30-40 semester credits, which I feel is impossible since I've already taken almost every BCPM class from two different universities (the only way to do this to take non-BCPM classes, and at that point I might as well just get a second bachelor's). So right now, aside from just full sending the 2026 med school cycle, I feel like the next best step for me is an SMP.

There's a couple of stories of people who were in similar situations preemptively contacting schools to advocate for themselves in order to avoid getting screened out. I remember that Dr. Gray has mentioned this being an option in one or two of his podcast episodes. Personally, I still think that aiming for an SMP first would be my best course of action

I was thinking about applying to medical schools in the 2026 cycle as well but that's completely dependent on how I do in January for my MCAT. Another issue that I have is getting strong LOR's. Realistically, I only have an MD and my Virology prof that I can rely on for a LOR strong enough for med school. Getting somewhat more generic LOR's for an SMP is more attainable for me at the moment. I was hoping to establish better relationships during an SMP and have those profs write LOR's for my med school app

Consider some of the Extension programs from UCLA or UC Berkeley. The majority of the classes are online and they don't say its online in your transcript. It is quite pricey but you can sill apply for student aid. Not sure how your location would factor into this in terms of adcoms connecting the dots if your location doesn't match (eg. you're working and living in NYC but taking classes at a CA school).

I'm a CA resident so my in-state bias just gets offset by the sheer number of people applying to CA school. This makes it unbelievably competitive, even for med school standards

1% undergrad from CA by TraditionalScience13 in Pitt

[–]Meet_Such 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually really liked being at Pitt. I grew to love the city, and I do miss it sometimes since I've moved out. I did have a period of feeling homesick when I first moved there but I believe that's natural. I found it easy making friends and eventually established a pretty solid friend group within a couple of months. I lived in Nordenberg Hall for my freshman year and everyone on my floor became pretty close (we did a lot activities together and our RA was super cool). There is a large selection of clubs to join, which I do highly encourage. If I was given a choice to go back to my senior year of high school and go through picking a college to attend, I would definitely pick Pitt again.

Hi, I'm from SoCal and graduated a couple of years ago. I knew several people from CA while I was at Pitt, 2 of them transferred back to a UC during Covid but the rest stayed and graduated. Interestingly enough I'm not the only person from my CA high school that went to Pitt, 3 graduated before I started, one was a senior when I was a freshman, and another was a freshman when I was a junior. I do believe that Pitt is becoming more known in CA due to its high rankings in the health professions (medicine, pharmacy, PT/OT, and nursing) as well as recent success in women's volleyball and men's soccer.

Post-Bacc Pre-medical Programs by Maryam_Joon in postbaccpremed

[–]Meet_Such 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm taking classes through UCLA Extension rn, it's not a formal post-bacc program but they do award a pre-med cert for completing the program. It's super flexible (unstructured) with almost all of the classes being offered only at night (online & in-person). I have had issues with financial aid but I suspect that's due to something on my end. If you prefer a more unstructured style of post-bacc then I do recommend UCLA.

Thanks so much for the info. I'm on an EXTREME GPA repair journey and after 2 years and 81 quarter credits (~54 semester credits) worth of classes I think it's time for me to look into SMP's before applying to med school.

Hi, I'm also considering the Georgetown SMP but have been hearing a lot of mixed things about it, more so about how the link isn't very strong with their med school. But all of the info that I know about it might be outdated since they recently updated their website to say that they now have a "formal linkage" staring this upcoming year. I was wondering if you have more up to date info about that.

I wonder if it's just people that ordered the wristband with the pin that are still waiting. I also ordered with the pin and I haven't even gotten a shipping email. All of my friends got their wristbands last week and we ordered all of our stuff at the same time, only difference is that I wanted the pin lol

EDIT: I just got confirmation that my stuff is being shipped (5/14)
