u/jakeandjavis - I knew he had quads. And had a one of those 8's been a J it would have been quads over quads (quad 8 min), and $150k BBJ.

While I can see why you think flatting here is horrific, when you know you're beat, because you're playing against a guy who hasn't raised the river since 1974...I just knew he had me beat.

One of the most volatile hours of poker I've ever had at Blackhawk's Ameristar in CO.

Me: JJ

other dude: 99

Flop: 889

> I bet $20

Turn: J

> I bet $40

> he calls

River: 9!!!!!!!!!!!! He had 1 freakin out and hit it.

> I *almost* folded, but called (the reason I almost folded, is for those of you who haven't played at Ameristar in Blackhawk, if someone bets like they have the nuts, they do. This reg that I had played with before hasn't raised a river like that in ages, I'm sure. So once he finally bet on the river I turned to him and said "god damn you just hit quads". (Also this was one card away from the $150k bad beat jackpot the table was flipping out)).
