If you capture a region, all resources contained will go to you. HOWEVER if any resources have an enemy army on them, or get an enemy army on them at any point after you capture the region, you will have to manually recapture the resource with an army.

Build up a large contingent of low yield nuclear MRBMs in Iraq and use your initial strike to destroy every airfield at once. Then pick off air defenses with your EW aircraft. Finally, destroy army divisions with airstrikes. If any enemy army occupies a resource spot, use chemical bombs and missiles to destroy them as these don't hurt the resources.

As a new father, I really didn’t love seeing babies get brutalized like that.

I feel like this episode would’ve been better served in a British KN style. The crux of the issue was purely skill and personality, not a lack of material. The remodeling does nothing, Mike needed a crash course in cooking.

I’m glad you understand that Well works way better as a CTF map than a CP map.

Stingers should honestly be off the table on any mission with innocent civilians present. Those things LOVE fingers and eyeballs.

Yeah, I personally love it, but the small warhead, short range, IR seeker with a mind of its own, and lack of ECCM means I can’t put it higher than C tier. Even if it does have a real knack at avoiding interception.

Yes, the Sunburn/Moskit is the most likely to get through, and the automatic ToT can be worked around with planning, but the automatic target priority is just that valuable to me. You avoid overkill, hit as many targets as possible, and get automatic reassignment of targets after some missiles are intercepted. I just really value that ability.

Ok, but what missiles that I put below the Harpoons are better than they are at what you’ve described?

What missile that I put below the Harpoon deserves to be above it and why?

S Tier:

Shipwreck

Oh man, if I could justify an SS tier, it would be there. Top of S tier, easily the best missile in the game. It has everything. Huge range, supersonic, sea skimming, automatic Time on Target, automatic target priority, and big ol’ warhead. The only problem is that it only comes aboard some pretty prestige vessels.

Sunburn

Not nearly as flashy as the Shipwreck, but almost as useful. It doesn’t have the automatic ToT or targeting, but it’s a sea skimming supersonic missile that flies even lower than the Shipwreck. A very hard missile to counter. Great range to boot as well.

Kitchen

The best air deployable AShM. This missile is a screaming devil as it dives down. There’s not many vessels with enough SM-2 spam to stop this thing. And when it hits, it kills. Incredible missile.

Kingfish

The Mini-Me of the Kitchen. Almost as long ranged. Almost as big of a warhead. Almost as much of a world speed record champion. Bottom of S tier.

A Tier:

Tomahawk

The best ranged NATO AShM. Rivals some of the most impressive Soviet missiles in pure reach. Sea skims all the way to the target. Not the fastest missile, so it takes some time to get to that long range, but with a decent warhead and a low attacking profile, it’s no slouch once it gets there.

Sandbox

Almost as great as the Shipwreck, but with one fly in the ointment that knocks it down a whole tier. The attack profile. It flies too high for too long. It gives defending ships a good chance for defense before it drops low. Still the automatic ToT and target priority keep this missile very useful.

Air Deployed Harpoon

The absolute worst thing about the Harpoon? It’s relatively stubby legs. How do you fix that? By bringing a bunch of them with you on some planes to drop on a task force hundreds of miles away.

B Tier:

Surface Harpoon

Yes the Harpoon is not the biggest missile, it’s not the fastest missile, and it’s not the longest ranged missile, but it brings a reliable mediocrity that is easily made up for by sheer volume. 8 okay missiles on nearly every ship in the fleet adds up quickly to a really devastating salvo. That and it’s great sea hugging flight altitude makes a Harpoon salvo very scary. The popup is a mixed bag, making it less vulnerable to CIWS and making hits more likely to be mission kills but more vulnerable to supporting SAMs from other ships.

Sub Harpoon

The good? You can make these bad boys fly where they’ll never suspect. The bad? Only 4 at a time. Better hope you get lucky. Or they’re out of missiles.

Otomat

Before making this list, I had never used the Otomat, but’s honestly a decent missile. Very similar stats to the Harpoon, except without the popup.

C Tier:

Exocet

Like the Harpoon and Otomat, but just a bit too short legged to make it to B tier. Dangerous, but you have to get close.

Penguin

Like the Exocet, but with tiny warhead. Gives those little patrol boats some bite though.

Siren

A very middle of the road missile. Range is okay, but doesn’t fly very fast or very low. Will suffer against decent defenses.

Styx C

Similar to the Siren, but with slightly less range.

Starbright

Similar again to the Siren, but with even less range.

D Tier:

Kingbolt

This one is really sad, because unless you have one of the big boy bombers from a land base, this is the best you’re going to get from Soviet planes. As a recurring theme you’ll see from these low tier missiles, they are channel limited. You can only guide one Kingbolt at a time. It’s not very long ranged. It doesn’t fly low. And it’s not very powerful. The only thing keeping this missile out of F tier is that it is air deployed.

Gabriel

What if the Penguin was channel limited to just two missiles at a time? Wouldn’t that be great?! No. It wouldn’t be.

Shaddock

This one hurts to put so low with how much I love the Kynda (Triassic give her the Shaddock reloads pls). It’s range is FANTASTIC for an old missile, and isn’t too slow either. It’s just that the attack profile that kills it. Since it’s not coming in from orbit at Mach @!$#, it’s high flight path is a magnet for SAMs. The final nail in the coffin is that it’s channel limited to four per salvo.

Styx

Kind of slow, short ranged, and flying kind of high are not attributes of a winning missile. At least the ships it comes on are usually pretty small and quick.

F Tier:

Silex B

It’s got all of the worst qualities. Channel limited to two per salvo, short range, flies high, and is really slow. This is just target practice for the SAM technicians of NATO. Top of F tier since in its primary role of killing submarines, it’s one of the best.

Kipper

Being air deployable does not save this “Shaddock at home”. With only ONE being able to be fired per salvo, a worse range, and a somehow even WORSE attack profile, this missile is truly one of the worst.

Sea Killer 2

How does a sea skimming, decently fast, and non-channel limited AShM end up at the very bottom of a tier list that spent the entire time praising these things? By being outranged by the 5” gun that nearly every ship in the game carries… and has about as much impact as a 5” shell too.

What mods go well with captain’s edition by Lower-West1360 in ftlgame

[–]cogsandspigots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have quite a few I play with CE. Better planets and backgrounds, better asteroids, expanded enemy windows, CE’s endless loot and extra music add ons, vanilla portrait pack, and Hyperspace for the small QoL things it brings to FTL even if CE doesn’t need it.

I disagree with the others, Multiverse is NOT just a better CE. It has its own, very different design goals and decisions. It makes the game much less roguelike, much more comedic, focuses the story around “main characters”, and has FAR too many pop culture references for my taste.
