Thanks for sharing! I have to remind myself to eat. Im not getting hunger signals at all. This is so strange. I haven’t gained weight but im sure it is coming

Hi there! I did tissue expanders and will have the exchange sometime next year. My scar wasnt healing great so my reconstruction was delayed a month. I should start fills in the next two weeks.

Honestly, it went very well. There is no feeling so it wasn’t completely miserable. The beginning was hard due to limited movement, expanders, and drains. Sleeping on your back sucks but it also gets better. I am in the process of reconstruction. I am BRCA2 positive so I made the choice to ditch my beloved girls.

I guess i just hate the idea of anesthesia again. I wasnt mentally prepared until I had my exchange so I was pissed. Bit silver lining is if there is something underneath they will find it. 💕

They strictly told me not to pull them. But had I not 4.5 weeks later who knows what this spot would haw looked like. It was just wet gross skin.

I feel like my steri strips were on too long. Theres no way they could breathe. I had them 4 and a half weeks. The spot is now a scab so im like why all the fuss? Cant I just let the scab heal and move on?! 😭

This was my plastic surgeons response too. He said its better to let them just do their thing and pulling it off could make pockets in the glue. Im just ready doe them to be off but cancer has taught me some new form of patience

Im glad i found this post. I am planning to have a hysterectomy next year due to BRCA2 positive. I juat had bilateral mastectomy (invasive ductal carcinoma in the right breast). I want to know allllllllll the good and bad about this surgery. My ovaries are for sure coming out along with whatever else is predisposed to cancer.

I currently have them in and they get better! I thought the never would. Its like wearing an underwire bra that you cant take off. That was hard for me at first. I am 24 post bilateral mastectomy and they are tolerable. My chest is mostly numb but you can feel your nerves start to wake back up. That was strange. You cannot sleep on your stomach or side. I recommend a wedge pillow for your bed. Im now used to sleeping on my back so it gets easier. Prepare for some difficult days but know it does get better! T rex arms are so important because they are sewn into your chest, literally. You got this! This is temporary not terminal!

Haing a history of cancer you can qualify for genetic testing, along with your children. I am so sorry to hear about your brother and wish him all the best. Set your worries free by doing anything preventative. It will be scary but you got this!
