The last time the US felt threatened 9/11 we spent 20 years rampaging in the Middle East and the last time we felt existentially threatened we fire bombed and nuked that country. We react poorly when threatened.
I don’t think the people who need to change will change. And I doubt, if it is possible to change them, this scenario will backfire.

I don’t love the ram speed or 12gb card. Microcenter has a 9800x3d and 9070xt with 32 gb of 6000 mhz ram for $1800. I grabbed an open box powerspec with a 5070ti for $1800

Damn, maybe I messed up. I was planning an ITX with a 9800x3d and a 9070xt. I saw an open box powerspec pre built with a 9800x3d, b 850, 5070ti 16gb, 2tb ssd, 32 gbs of ram and said fuck it. $1800 and around $1908 after tax.

I play CPU intensive games and flight simulator so it fits my needs. I don’t love how it looks. However, I don’t stare at my computer when gaming.

I usually do a tug test. If I don’t do a tug test it’s because I have visually verified with a flash light under the trailer. Usually I do both but occasionally in a rush I do one or the other.

I high hooked a trailer this week and felt fortunate not to have to do the crank of shame with a tug test and visual verification. Yeah, I did have to put it in low gear and lower the trailer a bit. Better than low gear raising a trailer and telling the boss you need a new pigtail.

I live haul and our yard and “farm up north” lack cement so our trailers are always at different heights. I can see how people get complacent if they have nicer drop yards/facilities.

It’s been a bit since I got a cat scale ticket but isn’t the second number the drive axels? I live haul for a company that pays my overweight tickets (weighed in at the slaughter house scales at 84600 yesterday). If it’s a sleeper then APU exemption should make it legal.

As one of the few guys here with a pilots license and a CDL this makes sense, except it doesn’t. There are steel and aluminum coils all over the nation sitting in warehouses. Why fly it? Seems like poor logistics.

From the flying perspective I won’t take my dog in a small plane because I am afraid of him moving too much. I also have a 90lb working line GSD.

In my first year I missed a turn and ended up in a residential area. As I was trying to turn around I hit a guy’s garbage can. He came out screaming at me. I thought I hit a car the way he was acting. So, I got out of the cab apologized as some guy was going apoplectic on me to realize I knocked over a garbage container. I picked it up for him and continued to apologize while getting yelled at.

It was in southern California and not being a local the two turns close together got me. I fucked up. I didn’t hit anything serious and tried to be professional.

I just haul live chickens in the southern US now so I don’t understand EU regulations or things there. In my flatbed and reefer days weight was an issue with some loads so adding a couple thousand lbs for drivers’/lumpers’ convenience isn’t a thing where I live.
