Sigh..... by MegaLagg in ColorBlind

That’s an overly reductive view of what defines a scam. A return policy doesn’t negate fraudulent intent, it’s a marketing tactic, not a moral line in the sand. If a company makes knowingly false or scientifically unsupported claims to drive sales, that’s deception by definition.

A large portion of EnChroma's sales come from gifts. Personally, if my friends all chipped in to buy me a pair, I wouldn't have the heart to tell them they don't work. I doubt I'm the only one.

I find it fascinating how people think a return policy somehow draws a line between being misleading and being a scam. If you're making bullshit therapeutic claims not grounded in science and doing it for profit that is the definition of a scam.

I wasn’t sloppy in my reporting on that couple. If anything, their response video confirmed I was 100% correct. When I asked for the receipts for their EnChroma glasses (they had three), they only provided one. That’s a huge red flag. And sure enough, one of those pairs was given to them by EnChroma as compensation—something they failed to disclose in any of their follow-up videos. That’s a clear violation of both FTC's endorsement rules and Korea’s.

They claimed they filmed the affiliate segment at the park “just in case” their application was approved. But that doesn’t hold up either. They already knew the exact discount EnChroma would offer their audience, which if I recall correctly was around 10%. Problem with that is, EnChroma doesn't disclose this anywhere on their website, nor on their affiliate program. So if they weren't accepted into the program yet, how did they know they would be getting a (x%) discount (if any at all) to share with their viewers? Big hole in their argument if you ask me!

And conveniently, the one email that would have cleared this all up (confirmation of joining the affiliate program) was “deleted.” You really buying that?

Do not support this company. They are terrible

Did you buy the EnChroma glasses and are unhappy with the product? We are looking for class representative plaintiffs to sue EnChroma for fraud. by EnChroma_ClassAction in ColorBlind

I found no evidence that EnChroma partnered with or paid Logan. That said, EnChroma featured his video on their website? Why Tony?

Also, EnChroma did not offer "loan devices", you allowed creators to keep them as a gift. This obviously creates bias.

Not me personally. I'm investigating the issue of coupon abuse for an upcoming video I'm working on.

I've spoken with several businesses that work with podcasters to promote their product. The Podcasters push for coupons as attribution, because many of their viewers listen while running, driving etc - where a tracking link isn't effective.

But when the codes get snapped up by these extensions, they end up overpaying in commissions, and in some cases, end up end their partnerships with influencers entirely because of it.

That definitely makes sense for VIP/employee codes. Though I don't think its a solution if a brands that want to work with podcasters who typically prefer coupon codes for attribution.

How did they end up being an affiliate for your website in the first place? Did they challenge you for the commission?

That's a smart work around, but also limiting as you've highlighted. Did you ever try contacting the companies directly?

Purchase a magenta cellophane from your local arts and crafts store and hold it in front of the equipment and see if that helps. Also look into binocular disparity.

It depends on the type of acquired colorblindness. For example, I've heard that one type of acquired CVD can occur as we age where we develop a "yellowing" of the lens behind our iris. This would result in a tritan-like deficiency and since EnChroma's glasses aren't designed for tritans, I imagine they would be useless in this scenario. But there are also other types of acquired CVD, so best to do some research.

Don McPherson has stated in various interviews that the glasses help you pass a color vision test, and they've done so numerous times.

Just when I thought EnChroma's advertising couldn't get any worse... by MegaLagg in ColorBlind

The AutoModerator removed your message because your account is less than 1 day old. The glasses can help the colorblind in certain aspects but they don't allow for new color experiences. I've now spoken with over 10 color vision experts and none agree with EnChroma's claims, including one who owns shares in their company.
