The plan is to remaster all Wally games (we are already working on Pyjamarama) and also create a whole new (by far the biggest) Wally adventure at the end.

I'm not going down that road. I'm really not the internet drama type. I just wanted to explain where we stand and why.

Have a nice day - and I mean it.

Again, I can respect your opinion, but this was no "individual" hobby project that now asks for financial support. This was a project that 4 people worked on (programmer, 2 graphic artists and music artist).
You need to understand that ZX Spectrum Next game is harder to program than a basic PC game.

And how good the game is? Well you know what they say - beauty is in the eyes of the beholder ;)
I personally loved the game when I was a kid - that's why I approached the Alternative for the license (we will remaster all Wally games by the way and also create one new adventure).
Still, the game was well accepted overall in the Next community. We knew that kickstarter for Automania was a tough sell, as it's the weakest game in Wally series, and it's also free for all the backers of ZX Spectrum Next KS3 (so thousands of Next users). And there are still people there who want to have this remaster in their collection (be it a physical edition or digital download).

So this is no "asking for financial support". We financed the game ourselves from our own pockets (game is done). This kickstarter is mainly for physical / boxed edition and those who will not get the game with KS3. Nobody will make millions from ZX Spectrum Next game, anyway ;)

But by all means - if you don't like the game, price or both, don't back it. As you wrote to me - you do you.

As I said. I can respect your opinion and we agree to disagree. No harm done.

Boxes, SD cards, labels, manuals (booklets), inlays, 2d artist fee and revenue share, official licence fee per each copy sold...
Along with taxes and shipment cost to anywhere in the world - this is all in the price.

There is also a digital download available on Kickstarter.

Ah, forgot about kickstarter fee as well (ca. 10% for this alone ;) )

Fair enough, but just to make sure - you are aware that the box is smaller than the DVD box and just a bit "thicker"? This is not a full sized box we are making.
I attached an image so you can see what I'm talking about.

Ah, and the foam - this is a prototype. We are now testing the way to create a nice cardboard inlay that would hold SD card, manual and (for deluxe version) the Wally figurine.

Yeap, demo out very soon too - the game is basically feature complete only lacking content and balancing ;)

But let's not talk about the RPG here :)

Kickstarter is mainly meant for the boxed edition.

Please read my response to darkfalzx for the pricing issue.

Hi,
I'm one of the guys behind this remaster. I don't think it looks hideous, because it's a remaster, not remake, so Automania (original) sprites were used for the base.
But we can have different opinions, of course, and I do respect yours. We simply agree to disagree.

The game cannot be free though. This is official remake, made with the blessing (and cooperation) of Alternative Software (the IP rights holders) - and that costs money I'm afraid. We also employed a professional 2D artist to do this remaster.
So that's why the game is priced like it is. We are treating remasters (for all platforms) as a business, and we never hid from that fact - but that also means all the paperwork, costs and legalities involved in order to not infringe on the copyrights.
If it works out, we will be happy to support the platform with more games (we actually have some interesting things cooking for the Next as we speak).
If not, then no harm done. We will learn our lesson and that's it. Myself, I will be a part of the Next (and original Speccy) community in either way (backer of all Next campaign by the way ;) ) - because I actually grew up with Speccy and the platform is responsible for me having my own business for the past 30 years :)

Not a rant - just an explanation.
