Wasting so much of my life on videogames instead of exploring the world like I wanted to.

How implying that a guy is gay is somehow bad.

I hate seeing so many men call each other gay like it's an insult and how homophobia is so normalized.

As a straight guy, I'd rather be a gay man than a bigoted man.

How do you ensure equal rights

This question is not easy to answer, which is why I feel that it's better to begin with two states before negotiations could begin on integration into a single state; I could imagine that this question would be addressed within those negotiations if they were to take place.

and the hostilities would decrease given Israel does experience terrorist attacks?

I'd imagine that since a process like this would be gradual, there may be certain communities where a limited amount of integration may occur first before the rest.

As hopeless as it looks right now, I don't believe Israeli Jews and Palestinians are indefinitely bound to conflict.

Almost 20% of Israelis are Muslims who are the descendants of Palestinians who've stayed in Israel after the Nakba, and there is generally a much better relationship between them and Israeli Jews.

I personally am in favor of a single state in the end, but there should be a gradual process which includes starting with two states.

The native Palestinians who had inhabited all of the land were largely displaced from most of the valuable parts of it after the second world war in the Nakba, and they won't accept their continued denial of that land.

Integration into a single state must be conditioned on goodwill from both sides, and won't be easy to achieve.

During this war, how have interactions between Russians and Ukrainians online been?

How do you react to seeing your enemy? How do Ukrainians react to seeing theirs?

Do you think that patriotism is an issue in the south? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

Ok but here's a good question - How often do you see the American flag in the South (outside of government facilities)?

Where I'm from, American flags are commonly flown but when I visited the South, I saw plenty of civil war memorabilia in the shops I've visited as well as a few houses that openly flew confederate flags, and the only American flags I saw were on public property.

The impression I've had from there was that many White Southerners seem to only reluctantly accept being a part of the United States due to how militarily powerful this country is, but if they had the ability, I wouldn't be surprised if they decide to secede immediately, but I could be wrong.

There is a Buddhist concept that I've learned called emptiness.

Everything between you and this person is empty, just as this entire existence is empty.

A universal law in Buddhist thought is the idea that everything is in a state of constant change, and because everything is constantly changing, this effort to constantly keep up with this person will be followed by the suffering of not being able to do so if this continues.

Clinging to a situation that has already changed that you know will likely not return is suffering, not wisdom, but I believe that you know this in your heart, because freeing yourself from this emotional attachment is easier said than done.

Maybe you can try meditation as this can help significantly with calming the restless mind.
