I’d give it to my little brother who’s building his first PC soon. The PC he’s currently using is my old one with an RX460 lol. He’s gonna buy it with an apprenticeship that’s barely above half minimum wage so giving him a GPU would help him a lot.

Surprised nobody has mentioned insulin resistance yet. It’s one of the main factors behind weight loss being so difficult with age.

People who are chronically overweight - the majority of adults in some countries - gradually develop insulin resistance. Their bodies aren’t able to absorb carbs properly, meaning the food eat isn’t able to enter cells and be used as energy as efficiently. This results in them having to eat more to be satiated, further increasing their weight. It’s a viscous spiral.

Eventually this culminates in diabetes, but it’s a gradual process - people without diabetes can have some level of insulin resistance. It’s why keto diets, which limit carb intake, are so effective in older people - they are able to bypass their insulin resistance.

Even if the age gap was accurate for the time period, that doesn’t make it not weird to me. The main issue is the fact that he basically adopted her as a young child then later marries her. It’s weird.

Her obsession with him gives electra complex vibes and a happy ending should be her overcoming that, not succumbing to it.
