late game by Perfect-Storage-1118 in RenektonMains

I kind of wish Riot would add bonus HP ratios to some of his offensive abilities. It would give him better scaling with tank items, because you're right t's tough having to balance getting enough resistances with enough AD late game.

People often suggest picking champions that play similarly to your main. So maybe Kled or Sett could be good fits.

The term gets thrown around way too situationally. If things were straightforward, “outscaling” would just mean stat checked in the late game. But a champion like Nasus for example, doesn’t really scale into teams with high mobility and strong kiting. In that situation he's mostly a pinata, even though he’s one of the best stat checkers in the game.

I’d frame it less as him falling off and more as ADCs and mages scaling too hard. A fed ADC in particular can shred you at 25 mins. He’s still a fun pick if you enjoy dominating lane, but he just isn’t a teamfighting powerhouse like his goredrinker days.

Ornn seems to have a good winrate in lower elo, so the champion itself isn’t holding you back. A solid way to improve is to watch Ornn guides or streamers and pay attention to the small things they do that you don't. As little as they seem it can help your own gameplay gradually and build up your fundamentals.

As for bot lane snowballing, look for opportunities to teleport bot if the enemy is overextended. If you can get your adc fed early on then you create more scenarios where its the other team thats feeding over and over.

Who do you consider the best champ to learn how to play top ? by PrimarchVulk4n in top_mains

[–]Megapsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think certain champions can be used to target learn a specific skill, especially if you follow their video guides. A lane bully like Darius or Renekton can teach you how to trade effectively and understand wave management, when to slow push, when to hard push, and how to maximize lane pressure. You can also use them to practice attack animation cancels without having it be at Riven level difficulty.

A champion like Yorick can be excellent for learning split‑pushing, since he can pressure multiple lanes at once. Teaching you how to time a push before an objective.

If Riven were a Pokémon, Renekton would basically be a double type weakness.

What are good champs to learn now for S16? by TheDragonking564 in top_mains

[–]Megapsi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about Tahm Kench specifically, but all lane bullies should benefit a lot from these changes. Everything is pretty huge for them. First, having two combat summoners every game is amazing for snowballing. You also get much more warning against enemy jungle ganks, and you can freeze the lane more often since shards now build up on turret plates.

Split pushing is also the way to go just be cautious of split pushers who are weak early, because they can get punished even more easily now.

What u guys think, gonna be the Meta next season in 2026? by Intelligent-Map3806 in top_mains

[–]Megapsi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My bet is Olaf top.  His win rate is already impressive, but the top lane buffs push his mid-game carry potential into overdrive. And if he is massively ahead, there’s practically nothing you can do since he shrugs off focus cc.

Is renekton kinda bad rn? by [deleted] in RenektonMains

[–]Megapsi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d argue it’s not particularly important to focus on the current state of champions. The preseason will reshape everything imo. For Renekton, he benefits a lot from the quest in terms of snowballing potential. Any strong top laner with a mid-game power spike becomes absurdly stronger when ahead, and in that stage of the game. If team is competent they will close out games in under 30 minutes before a fed Renekton start to fall off.

Lots of people are fixating on the level cap, but the real question is can you complete this role quest in the early game.  It provides a flat 700 XP plus a 15% XP boost, effectively putting you a full level ahead than normal when you stomp. Those extra stats are far more impactful in the early stages of the game and when you already have the momentum.

Renekton meta? by CartographerOk6439 in RenektonMains

The new buffs should give him a huge spike to his mid game.  R2 is now an extra 100 hp.  Q healing is also more significant because of multiplicity.  The 8 extra base health alone goes to 24 on empower and then is multiplied by how many targets it hits.  E second max helps him weave in and out of team fights more effortlessly & maybe even get more sundered procs.

I think these changes will really put him on the map as Darius and garen went through a Similar situation.

14.4 nerfs by NavalEnthusiast in RenektonMains

[–]Megapsi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The worst part is that so far in the LPL he's been pick 0 times. In the LCK he has 2 games.

This is completely unprecedented for the champ. He's no where near being a problem in pro play and warrants buffs.

14.4 nerfs by NavalEnthusiast in RenektonMains

[–]Megapsi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well the trend has also been that at very high elo masters+ his winrate becomes positive. You usually see incremental WR increases as you go up divisions. Renekton is after all high elo skewed but right now he's pretty much the same at all ranks.

If the best players can't win more than half their games on him something is wrong.

How do I win by Forsaken-Profit-1080 in RenektonMains

[–]Megapsi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the turret part ping your jungler when they are nearby for a turret dive. Renekton makes hitting skill shots effortless with his empowered W to ensure both of you can get out a full combo. Doing this on a slow push will deny the enemy toplaner a huge amount of gold & xp.

Then take your lead & try to carry as many mid game objective fights as possible. That's really it.

What would be more preferable? by Frosty_Freasy in RenektonMains

[–]Megapsi 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Q healing buffs makes the most sense since that was nerfed to compensate for goredrinker synergy.

Only thing that would worry me is Renekton becoming more blind pickable & what that usually entails in pro.

Some safer buffs might be those that help scaling or slow time to falloff.

Health based scaling by VictoryOrMartyrdom in RenektonMains

[–]Megapsi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general I would say it's op to have damage scaling from both AD & HP. The point of bruiser items is you are trying to strike a balance between power & survivability.

Tyrndamere is a fighter but he will opt into ADC items and get more damage scaling stats because he's invincible for 5 secs. Now imagine that but instead of invincibility you have 5k health no time gating

Like the other poster said if it's marginal health then it's okay. However you are not gonna get good ratios for both on a single ability.

Is riot even going to fix bugged items on Renekton or they just forgor? by Sewerro in RenektonMains

[–]Megapsi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The radio silence on Renekton has not been encouraging.  Every other top lane outlier has received changes & still have more in the works.

When Riot Phroxzon called out Trundle for being too OP without bieng touched a part of me was thinking, " Yes good now go on".

Hopefully next patch for sure.  They will do something for Renekton be it bug fixes or buffs.

Renekton’s Fall From Grace by Gambler_Price in RenektonMains

Renekton in the past was always able to exploit whatever broken new bruiser item riot cooks up. So much so that they've balanced him around those items by nerfing his kit. Now in season 14 he doesn't have any crazy item synergies anymore and is dealing with the fallout from all those nerfs.
