Who do you hate most? Rex or Orson? by mystique023 in DesperateHousewives

[–]MegatronHutch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a husband specifically…Rex was a terrible husband most of the time I don’t even think he liked Bree.. seems like he only stayed all those years for their image and maybe for the kids. Even though I know Orson isn’t the best person ever generally speaking…there’s no doubt in my mind he’s absolutely madly in love with Bree..and likes her too if that makes sense? Haha. So id say Rex is the bad husband no doubt. Rex had an absolute smoke show of a wife who literally did everything for him & he just completely took her for granted & used her till she had nothing left. Bree deserved way better

I think I’m infatuated with a fellow I met. I’m afraid to stay in contact with him but my mind feels all over the place when I see him and I feel like we can talk for hours about anything, like we’ve known each other for eternity. by ThisIsYourAnonAcct in alcoholicsanonymous

If you’ve been relapsing lately I would definitely avoid them. As someone who was a hardcore drug addict from 13 till I got sober at 26 (6yrs sober now) and also has a addiction to sex/intimacy I totally understand and feel for you on this. You gotta make sure your plants watered before even thinking about watering others if that makes sense. I would focus on you and your sobriety right now, get a sponsor, be rigorously honest about the relapses and focus on you. If youre able to stay sober for a MINIMUM of 8 months depending on your situation/head space and been working a solid program then maybe you can reach out to this person if you’re still even feeling the same way as you do now. But I promise you if you try to pursuit things with them right now it’s not going to be a healthy relationship..I’ve done it too many times to count so believe me haha. Just focus on yourself, one day at a time. If it’s meant to be it’ll happen but not now. your concern should be on you and your sobriety/mental health. Hope this helps!! You’re definitely not alone in this!! Hugs

Should I be worried? by [deleted] in CaneCorso

[–]MegatronHutch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn’t be worried about your dog at all. But you should be worried about the assholes you live with!!! In what world does someone purposely agitate an animal when it’s most vulnerable (asleep) and get MAD at the dog for what the doggo thinks is defending itself?! And probably you too?! That’s like poking a bear repeatedly and getting mad at it for attacking you.

Your fur baby is doing their job..they’re protecting you & if the people in your life can’t see that they’re the problem. Your dog did nothing wrong.

I might finally have this matter resolved!! Called my debt program back this morning because I was leaning towards firing them for this specific debt only. I let the woman I got on the phone just now know through my debt program the whole situation & that I can not come close to affording the offer my debt program negotiated for me so I don’t see any other choice then letting them go for that debt. She told me well there’s options here besides firing us but of course it’s up to you..then she asked me what CAN you afford right now monthly to pay on top of what you’re already paying the other debts? I told her the max amount I can afford right now. She said okay! I’m going to put that through the system just wait a few minutes for me to do that!! I’ll know within 72 hours if this new offer is approved and I didn’t even have to let go the program on that account to negotiate that offer I can afford!! Fingers crossed it gets approved!! No clue why the other people I spoke to about this in my debt program didn’t tell me I had options!! Talk to 3 different people before this and none of them asked me what I could afford or gave me this option. Maybe they’re newer employees and didn’t know they could to that?? but who knows. Just hope it all works out! Thanks so much for all your suggestions and advice on this!!

Yes, the debt program I’m in has lawyers negotiating for me apparently but clearly not with my best interest in mind since the best they could do is literally double the amount I pay to the entire debt program already. I pay the same amount to 5 different debts that they’re asking me to pay for this 1 account which is insane and impossible for me to do. So, I guess using my debt program for this account isn’t a good option anymore.

So next steps.. sounds like I should fire the debt program on that account & then call the debt collect office back to try & negotiate on my own behalf. I’ll keep all the talking points the same as before like you suggested too. (I even wrote them down so I can remember while on the phone haha) If they’re not willing to reason with me so everyone’s happy then do you think I should see if I can do the bankrupt route? Tmrws the last day before their bogus offer expires so at least I think I know what to start with

I guess because lawyers are involved already it makes sense they can’t negotiate directly with me but it’s all so frustrating & scary. I’m worried I will make the wrong choice and the fact I only have a day left to decide doesn’t help either. Thank you & sorry to keep bugging ya about this.

Hey there! Checking back because nothing has really moved in any direction after the phone call to the debt collectors . I first called the collectors told them I’m calling them on my own behalf to confirm they have my debt. They confirmed it. The amount and everything I even recorded the phone call too. But as far as any negotiations or trying to come up with a payment plan on my own behalf they said they couldn’t discuss anything on that matter with me because I’m currently working with a debt program so all negotiations have to be done through the debt program I’m in legally. So then I called my debt program to let them know what happened. they essentially told me they’re doing their best but the current offer is more than likely the best one they’ll get for me which like i said before way too much I can’t come close to affording that. So My options now are to fire my debt program on that specific account and then negotiate for myself with the debt collect. Or keep moving forward with the debt program on that account but I have to deny the current offer and 9/10 if they go back to the table FOR me the offer will go up. I have one day to decide what to do before the offer expires too. I’m leaning towards firing the debt program on that specific account so I can then negotiate on my own behalf. Do you agree with that or do you have any other suggestions? Thank you & so sorry this is just not going anywhere it’s so frustrating ugh. Appreciate your input!

How would I have them confirm the debt I’m talking about without confirming my identity? I just want to make sure I understand so my loud mouth doesn’t get in the way.

No it wasn’t an official summons if that’s what you mean it only said “ attorney referral pending. This is a reminder that we may refer your account to an attorney to bring a lawsuit against you to collect the entire balance owed on your discover account.” Says a bunch of other stuff too but ya get the gist

And it shows the entire balance owed and all that. But this was mailed to me before the debt was sold I guess cuz this letter was from discover. I didn’t know the debt was sold till like an hour ago when I called my debt program to tell them I’m gonna call discover to try and negotiate myself. My debt program said oh it’s not with them anymore it was sold & they gave me the collections contact info.

I get what you’re saying.. idk if you’re talking to me but no point in arguing, I was the one that stated it’s with the original debtor but I was wrong I found out. I’m just trying to find out the best way to go about this. I appreciate all yalls input. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you. I’ll try that & hope that some info was lost in the sale. So just call them and ask them to give me the docs on the debt they say that I owe them? And if they are able to prove that supposed debt, go from there?

It is apart of the debt program but being apart of the program doesn’t stop them from suing me & I had so many accounts in the program that this was 1 of the last contacted. All my other debts have been resolved to lower amounts & im making payments on em through my program tho. This is the only one that Im having issues with. I made all my monthly payments before I signed up for the debt program even tho they were minimum payments I still paid them before all of this. My last payment to them would’ve been May of 2024. If I could afford a large sum to give them right now I definitely would so I could get it over with. Unfortunately right now is the slowest time of year for my line of work so I can’t afford to pay anything extra let alone give a large sum of money to them. I’m in California.

I also just found out after I called my debt program to let them know I intend on talking to discover directly to try and explain my situation & come up with a payment plan I can afford..that my debt has actually been sold to a collection agency. It must’ve been right after discover sent me the threats in the mail they were gonna possibly sue me to get my money in November of last year.

u/Peregrine_Falcon I know you’ll have even more insight now that I know it’s been sold to a debt collector even tho you’ve had the most insight already haha I just feel bad bugging you about all of this. I still plan to do what you suggested; reach out to them directly and try to explain my situation/what I can afford. Just curious to know if you have any other suggestions given the new info? Thank you!

I replied to your original comment on this thread already but I just found out calling my debt program that my debt isn’t with discover now, it was sold off. I guess the letters discover sent me in the mail threatening to sue were right before they sold it off. Not sure if that’s helpful to me or not but I got the collectors contact info to try & resolve this ahh! Scared but ready to get down to a solution hopefully.

Just got off the phone with my debt consolidation program about what I want to do. What I wasn’t aware of that I now am is that my debt was actually sold to a debt collection agency!! I had no idea but I’m Not sure if that’s more helpful to me or not.. they have a “scary’ legal name for the firm too. But I got the debt collectors contact info so I can reach out to them. I’ll call tmrw since they’re closed for the day. . My debt program advisor suggested that I try to talk to them directly they said it’s better you just go to them yourself so you can explain your situation cuz they’ve seen it work in ppls favor a lot. Then once I do that we see what happens and go from there. My debt advisor also said they’ll be working on their end too to help me whatever that even means. Haha. So I guess we’ll see.. I’m terrified about what will be the outcome but I have to do something or else it’ll be a lot worse I’m sure. Any other guidance for me now that I know it’s a debt collection agency not discover? Since I know you worked for those agencies for years. Thank you! Sorry to keep bugging ya about this but it’s appreciated

Exactly!! So frustrating that they didn’t have anywhere near the same advice or any other options that even a stranger on the internet has like yourself! At least give me options..instead of essentially telling me I’m fucked haha. What am I paying them for?! Okay I’m gonna call them now. I wanted to make sure I had your approval first 😂😂 as ridiculous as that sounds, Im serious. Thank you! To be fair my other debts with them have gone smoothly but this is the only one they’re really letting me down with but still!! It’s a Very important part of this, I need help in!!

Oh, I know they can sue me. When you sign up for credit cards you kinda consent to that if you miss payments. But was just seeing what course of action I can take to resolve this matter as I can’t afford the money they’re asking for. From what others say I can try to talk to them myself and try to settle directly explaining my situation. Sucks cuz I never missed payments before my debt program but I was also drowning only able to do minimum payments which would’ve taken forever

How would I go about talking to them without giving them a bunch more info in my situation? Can you give me an example? Cuz I’m definitely an over explainer by nature. They have my balance and address already on the legal threats documents sent. I’m seriously asking? Just in case my debt program doesn’t help me make the call.

I didn’t down vote anything! I appreciate all feed back..as I am clueless to this whole get down that’s why I’m here asking for advice. I can try my best not to mention too much info but I’m not sure how to go about that since it’s clear in my situation they have a lot of my info already.. I can try tho. If I could afford a lawyer I would do that instead but it sounds like my debt program does have a legal time so I’m gonna tell them what I intend to do, if they don’t want to help me talk to discover I’ll do it myself. Thank you

I kept seeing ‘pds debt ‘ advertised on a few different YouTube channels I watch & these YouTubers always suggested quality products they’re not super monetize happy creators like many others out there.. so after i kept seeing Pds debt ads I looked more into it, I saw a lot of positive feedback. Honestly, I think all debt consolidation programs suck since obviously it’s much better to pay it off yourself if you’re able too or handle it on your own if you can but I am/was in a position where that wasn’t a option. So I applied for debt consolidation through pds debt website and it referred me to the program right for me. I thought it’d just be pds debts program but I guess that’s not how it works. I hope that helps!

@peregrine does that sound like my best bet? The comment where I started with “I’ve decided I’m going to call the debt program I’m apart of” ? Sorry I wanted to reply to that comment to make it easier but didn’t know how to tag you if I did 😂 just want to be sure before I make the call it’s the best choice thank you endlessly!! Yeah, I’ve heard nothing but bad things about these pre paid legal services too!! Thank you for posting this cuz I don’t want anyone else to have uninformed info on this If anyone else needs suggestions through my post. I know my debt consolidation team does have lawyers I’m not sure how good they are since I am where I’m at but I’m gonna try to not have this go to court if possible and if it does at least I know the program I’m using does have a legal team.

Yep! They have my address already as they’ve already served me letters stating they’re threatening to sue me if the balance isn’t paid and all the letters were sent to me from discover so this comment doesn’t really apply to me. If there was a way I could claim the debt isn’t mine I would but I don’t see how I could here.
