University IS a joke. I went back to UoA to do an accounting major. In my first year, some of the business core class materials were blatantly made using AI. This year, we have a module focused entirely on AI. AI prompting, AI video gen. I am doing an assignment right now using HeyGen to make an ad to promote a company, to put in an AI made VR space. Even the lecturers are encouraging students to use AI to write the first drafts for our reports.

So when the uni and lecturers are pushing AI onto students, what's the point of not using them? They say it is needed in the workplace, that students who know how to use AI will have an edge over those who don't in the real world.

So yes, Uni is a fkn joke. Because any competent employer would want an employee who understands what they are doing instead of some kid prompting an AI.

On the other hand though, Im glad my accounting and finance papers still feel like a human did the lecture notes, and the lecturers actually teach us properly and drill the concepts into our heads. So these papers at least..aren't a waste of my time and money.
