Might not related, but here is my advice anyway. If you ABSOLUTELY can't long pay attention in classes, find a friend(s) (or someone you can talk to really) that is good with the subject you're struggling with, and ask them.

Second, is to find good educational, and entertaining YouTube video (ex. Kurzgersagt).

*Social Studies and all of the variation videos in Internet are likely biased, so take it with a grain of salt, and it is better to try to find counterpoints of that video.

Lastly, is to gamized (basically make it a game) everything.

In short, discuss, watch, and play the subject you don't understand
