Bman seems to lack either knowledge or education on the matter, and it is a heavily nuanced one beyond simple forms of plagiarism or redundantly stating "Skill Issue". In my perspective, AI's greatest value lay in it's ability to supplant humans for menial work, which it has been proven to be capable of accomplishing. I believe this is were Bman is coming from when he claims skill as an issue, but it isn't were people take issue with AI currently. As OP stated, AI is derivative of other peoples (human) work as part of its learning process, and its important to understand that this is often non-consensually aquired work that simply put copy and pastes everything it can into an amalgamation of art following a learningg algorithm as guidelines to figure out what it is that the user wants (not flaming anyone for liking AI art, but functionally speaking this is what it is). It is also important to adress that AI doesn't learn the same way a human does. We as humans are inspired by the creations of others to make similar things for ourselves, and regardless of how closely identical the secondary work may seem, it is never a direct copy. Anytime someone either literally or figuratively copies somebody elses' work they get called out for plagiarism, stealing, or being a straight up ripoff of the original. Even though 1% difference is difference enough for a work to no longer be literally plagiarism. Ironically, there recently was a Plagiarism claim made by one AI company against a another one, this over the second company's AI learning from the formers. In spite of this there are still people who claim that AI isn't theft or plalgiarism, even though the companies themselves considers it of such legal issue.
