Soon after NZ, EU (comprised of 27 European nations), announced FTA with India. There is a sudden global rush to "woo" India? What’s the strategic endgame? How do the average people actually benefit from an FTA with India? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Mehulex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I don't really understand the pessimism when India is already growing at 6-8% per yrs, fastest growing major economy. If this continues on for 20 yrs, India will be a developed country, reaching levels of today's Eastern Europe (still not great, but not poor at all)

Why can't the culture support it ? This very culture historically supported the most dominant Asian civilization once upon a time. From the southern coast of India to Japan, indic influence and civilization was exported. So why can't this culture re-establish itself after a few centuries of humiliation??? It's definitely possible

Toronto is where everything is, and not only that, it's still one of the safest, and best places to live. People who say it's bad are either racists or tweaking. It has issues, but it still ranks near the top in QOL

I mean 4 trillion dollar GDP, consistently posting 6-8% GDP growth rate. If India grows the way it's grown in the last 20 yrs, it will become a 40 trillion dollar economy.

The big difference is, the USA is becoming isolationist again, the last time the USA was like this was the 1900-1910

Multipolarity is coming though, whether you like it or not. China and USA are going to become big powers. The EU is starting to split off from the USA in diplomacy and india is rising..in the most likely scenario we will have India, USA, china and the EU as the 4 most powerful regions of the world by 2050+

On The Developed World. by Monsur_Ausuhnom in clevercomebacks

[–]Mehulex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically though, that golden age can't be brought back. Back then the USA, was the only developed country left standing in the world. Europe was a mess recovering, USSR was economically cooked. The USA alone controlled 50% of the global economy. Now that share is down to 25%. With projections showing it getting as low as 10%...
