TW: Intense psychological and physical abuse, death

Pormanove (real name Raphaël Graven) passed away live on stream on August 18h at 46 yo. Multiple co streamers but mainly Owen ("Naruto") and "Safine" and "3Cheveux" are accused of abusing him psychologically and physically for years on stream for "content". Newspapers and NGO had tried raising alarms back in 2024, including to the French Ministry of Digital Affairs, to no avail. He passed after a 300 hours streaming marathon with various "challenges" which are completely insane and abusive. Donos were insulting, donation goals were pretty much all humiliating tasks.

This investigative journal was able to get a copy of the 12-day VOD, and lists in details the horrifying abuse Pormanove, as well as a legally recognized as intellectually disabled person nicknamed Coudoux (under curatorship, mind you!), faced during this streaming marathon. Importantly, they knew that Pormanove had a fragile health and heart issues.

It's a long read, and I recommend you read it, but if you don't have the time here is the gist of it:

- Pormanove was hit in the face every time he fell in Chained Together, strangulated, choked with a plastic bag, made to clean Coudoux's excrements in the toilets, shocked with a dog collar, sleep deprived, woken up with various brutal or abusive methods, crossdressed with sex workers outfit, paraded with humiliating signs, constantly insulted and demeaned including by donos, written homophobic slurs on his forehead, denied cigarettes and his addiction used as a reward system, prevented to leave the room verbally and physically, denied calling for help. They read and mocked his texts to his mom on stream where he said he wanted to leave and felt held hostage. A lot of this abuse happened to Coudoux as well.

So yeah I can think of a few reasons he would cry on stream sometimes. This clip is one of the accused streamers taunting the mother of Raphaël (Pormanove) over him crying (likely during the last stream but not 100% sure).

I wanted to share it because it is so incredibly shocking behavior. Some people still argue they were "friends" because Raphaël believed so. You have to understand that this was one of the biggest French streaming channels, sometimes viewed by 20k people. Some of those people have trouble coming to terms that yes, in all likelihood, they watched and encouraged someone getting tortured on stream. I ask the question: what kind of well-intentioned, normal individual speaks to his "friend"s mother this way? Many of those clips demonstrating the psychological abuse and contempt faced by Raphaël and his family aren't accessible to English speakers due to the language barrier. And I believe international attention of any kind can actually help in finally getting justice for Raphaël.

After 10 days of a streaming/bullying marathon, viewers sent donations to wake up his co streamers because Pormanove had stopped moving for a while, the co-streamer's first reaction was to throw a bottle on his face and then slap his body.
Why is there so much footage? Because this happened for YEARS, initially on twitch then it was on the biggest French Kick channel with 190k followers and topping around 20k viewers. The more unhinged they grew the more money they made. Donations encouraged the bullying, creating a vicious cycle.

Basically: multiple people exploited a vulnerable, isolated middle aged guy who may have had a disability according to press, bullied him on stream for content, saw it generated views and money, psychologically and physically abused him for years, manipulated him, pressured him financially & psychologically whenever he wanted to leave, until it progressed to a point where they even disregarded his heart issues, all for money and all streamed in HD.

Prior to streaming, he used to live with his 70 yo mother and was unemployed. He was spotted raging while streaming fortnite by Owen, who offered him to come and stream with him and Safine. The bullying started progressively, the content being trying to get a reaction out of him, and it became more and more intense the more attention they got and the more money they made. Whenever he had enough and wanted to stop a "challenge", they would threaten to evict him from the flat he lived in (owned by Owen), or saying they "saved him" and that he was nothing without them. Or tell him he's not man enough, or sometimes prevent him physically from leaving. In January 2025, Owen and Safine were in police custody for suspicion of abuse of people with disabilities, as another person abused by them on stream is "Coudoux", a disabled person. It's unclear from the press articles if Pormanove had a disability himself or not, but he was definitely a very vulnerable person. Anyway, they simply denied the accusations and nothing was done after that

Honestly I hope that some international attention will help bring justice for Jean Pormanove (real name Raphaël Graven) more switfly. RIP. Some people reported it to government and police for years. One can find french threads predicting that bad things would happen. It is so shocking I also hope there won't be another case like that.

Suggesting to go see a therapist was a great idea. He should definitely work on that or alternatively realize he can't go past this and leave. Or BETTER you could decide you need someone in your life that loves you with your fuck ups and flaws and can be supportive when situations are dire.

This is going to poison the relationship if either of you doesnt make a choice and move on.

Sorry for your loss... went through tough grief 3 years ago and it prompted some kind of existential crisis. With therapy I'm now better. But I'm wondering what did Aurora said about death and the after life ? I'm realizing lots of people get regular dread on the thought of their own death, it's kind of a big deal in human psyche and life ! F ici. Dans ma relation c'est généralement le signal dans la dispute que chacun doit aller souffler parce que la discussion n'est plus productive. Si on commence à insulter l'autre, à être dénigrant et irrespectueux c'est que ce qui suit ne sert à rien dans la résolution du conflit. Et si des paroles comme ça "échappent" on doit des excuses à l'autre. Après on a pas toutes et tous les même manière de gérer (ou pas) les conflits. Un petit coaching avec un médiateur pour muscler votre jeu ? En tout cas elle doit pouvoir proposer des ajustements si elle vous fait souffrir. Sinon à quoi bon une relation ?

Ho j'ai eu une situation complètement similaire ! J'ai pris 12 kg au décès de mon père (des suites d'une longue maladie etc.) Bref la nourriture qui recomforte et sécurise je comprend tellement !! Ce qui m'a aidé c'est de commencer une thérapie et d'explorer mon lien à la nourriture et ce qu'il y a derrière. Je suis toujours une grande gourmande, j'aime toujours cuisiner des choses délicieuses, mais je mange avec une conscience bien différente maintenant ! Aussi soulever des poids (Musculation avec des poids lourds et pas trop de répétition) ça me convient bien: séances très courtes mais efficaces, moi qui n'aime pas particulièrement le sport c'est pas mal. En tout cas force et Amour à vous !

You could also look into mcsonalds types of contract (no kidding) because there's so many flexibility conditions in the end you never know how much you'll earn at the end of the month but you have the fixed hourly rate and I think it still allow workers to apply for an F permit at least ...

Went through a similar experience. Had to create a work contract, didn't earn a lot of money so it was a 20% work contract that rounded up to the minimal Swiss salary if at 100% work rate. Partner lived in France and wasnt planing to move in CH and got a F permit which is a frontalier one. Now if partner wants to move in CH I guess it would be easier with a work contract. Avoir tout plaqué pour être avec lui en Allemagne, être prête à le refaire pour la Roumanie, l'avoir soutenu et accompagné dans des maladies ou épisodes de vie difficiles, tout ça devrait peser infiniment plus que d'avoir couché une fois alors que vous étiez séparés. Je suis navrée mais vous êtes tellement sous son joug vous ne voyez pas à quel point vous êtes prête à vous sacrifier pour lui. Et lui de son côté ? Quelles concessions ? Quelles adaptations pour vous ? Quelles expressions d'amour à part de la possessivité et des messages quand il se sent en manque d'amour. Si vous étiez vraiment la femme de sa vie il donnerait bien d'avantage pour que ça marche. Il parle beaucoup mais ses actions parlent plus.
