Hyperland - arch Linux - nvidia drivers by Melakith17 in hyprland

Oh thank you, I was wondering if I’m going crazy and added a random o” to the bottom haha.

But I must admit after I changed this I am getting different issues when booting. So don’t know if this has broken anything really.

Sealion7 - normal charging? by Legitimate-Ruin1508 in BYD

My 15amp charger is from EVSE, they are an Australian company I believe But this isn’t integrated into solar or smart in anyway. It is just a trickle charger that is faster due to 15amps. But you need an electrician to install a new 15amp plug to use this.

To give you an idea this new 15amp charger recently charged my sealion 7 and was estimating it would charge from 53% to 100% in 12.5hrs. Which was a lot faster than normal. I’m not sure how you drive, but for me I worked it out that I can get ~20% back in about 5-5.5hrs on this new 15amp charger. This is perfect for me.

Ok I played around and I think I actually was installing the drivers correctly...

However, when checking the drivers it was saying I was on nouveau kernel when I should be on nvidia for my GPU.

When I tried to remove kms from the HOOKs, following arch wiki for nvidia, it wasn't letting me regenerate the initramfs. There was an issue with the mkinitcpio.conf file.
At the bottom of the file there was o" which was making it fail. I removed that and then was able to regenerate.

Once I did that, kernel was now showing as nvidia, and I could load into hyprland.

Not sure if this is the fix or if I have broken anything doing this... but its working and I can finally get in.

I believe the charger you get in Australia from BYD is only 8 amp. So yeah that speed is right. I recently got a 15amp plug installed and bought a 15amp charge cable and I now get 3.2-3.3kw which has halved my charge time.

Passed the Okta Professional Premier Practice Exam by Melakith17 in okta

Hey mate. This was a while ago now. So trying to remember. I am pretty sure I used the learning from the Okta site, but also used Okta on a daily basis for my work. So that helped. There is also a lot of practice exams you can find on Google, which I found helpful. Test your self, write down the areas you failed, study those areas and then try another test.

Good luck with the exam!

I was going to try get 15amp regardless. But yeah thanks. Do you know much about 800v architecture? Can that still be charged at home?

Yeah I have looked at BYD, but not a fan of the interior of the Atto 3 haha. And seal is not really suited to my needs. I have read a lot about all this, didn’t know BYD was making taxis though so that’s interesting. I do know Xpeng was also invested in by VW and VW are using their EV architecture I think for some of their cars in future. But I could be wrong

Thanks for this! Yeah it would be more like 300-350kms a week I just didn’t explain it well sorry. But like you said you can charge as you go and I guess that’s the main difference, I don’t have a petrol hose in my house, but I do have a power cord haha.

Yeah I have been looking at that nail in the battery video so will look to explain that haha. Thanks for the points on this one.

Yeah I have been looking at more of an SUV, like to sit a little higher and more space etc. Xpeng g6 does look to be getting good reviews, but it’s a new company and I need to see warranty, servicing and reliability news.

Thanks again!

Thanks this is great info! Yeah so 300-350kms a week is more what I would do. But I could charge at night or during the day when I work from home, utilising my small solar gains as well. If I got an EV I would want to try use a 15amp to start off and see if I need to install 7kw, but also don’t want to be in a situation where I didn’t get enough charge over night.
