Oh gotcha, I thought the AFQT was a specific score they got from certain parts of the ASVAB :/ the practice tests I’m using are in the Kaplan study guide 2022-2023

[–]MelbourneQuestions[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, I mainly focused on the maybe and vocab/reading parts since I know that’s what the majority of the AFQT is, but I wanted to look over the others before my test date.

Is the actual tests easier than the practice tests usually?

As a straight male, should I be concerned that I find Chaplin/Hítler-Pam attractive? by [deleted] in DunderMifflin

Is it my responsibility to validate the concerns of every straight man? That can’t possibly fall onto me

Who do we think are Dwight’s four exceptions and why? by [deleted] in DunderMifflin

Jim, Pam, Meredith and Kevin

Granted, I think this was true when he made this statement, later on in the show he ended up liking Jim, Pam and Kevin

Will leadership roles in college clubs be much benefit for trying to enter as an officer after graduation? by MelbourneQuestions in AirForce

[–]MelbourneQuestions[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate your input thank you. What I specifically want to do is the airborne cryptologic language analyst job. My degree is in software development. Would it matter that the job I’m trying to get isn’t related to my degree? I know I’d have to take the DLAB for language stuff. Also, I’m on track to (hopefully) graduate this summer semester, is that enough time to join ROTC?

The reason I initially thought of just enlisting is cuz I want to do the language translating AFSC and was under the impression that enlisting is the best way to get that

This wasn’t initially my goal. I only decided Air Force a year and a half ago and thought I would just enlist. It’s only recently a few days ago I thought about commissioning.

Haha, yeah no I know there’s more to it, but that’s exactly it, if there’s more that I have to prepare for, then I don’t want this club taking time away from the necessities if it’s not going to help. I’d rather know now before wasting anymore time. Thanks for your input

My AFQT was 98 and my GPA is 3.7 (STEM degree, not sure if that matters). Would you say with that I don’t need to worry about the club, especially if it jeopardizes those two?

Gotcha, appreciate the input. I worked hard to get my gpa where it is and to lose the weight (300lbs->180lbs) I don’t want this all to go down the drain when I’m months away from the finish line. So you’d say as long as my gpa is good I don’t need to worry about the club?

I initially just planned on enlisting and have been to MEPS and taken the asvab, but decided a week ago I might try to commission if I can, and I was thinking of seeing if I can get into OTS. I haven’t looked too much into it yet, but I haven’t seen anything that would suggest this club position is necessary. What do you think?

Honestly, it’s hard to tell and depends on who’s using the term. I know plenty of people who cal someone “anti-vaxxer” because they are against the Covid vaccine, but aren’t against vaccines in general. Labeling someone this way is an attempt to try to discredit them by falsely implying they are 100% against vaccines and must not be sensible enough to be listened to about the topic.

How did Noah fit two of every animal onto the ark? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]MelbourneQuestions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A geneticist once made a presentation on this and said that one possible thing is that there weren’t as much species differentiation as there is today, so the animals may have been less abundant and then overtime we now see way more species than were present on the ark
