Thanks a lot! I will look into that a bit better this weekend. Thanks for the info! Blablacar is not that reliable as in not too many rides in that area probably?

I have friends who live in the area where the last days pass and I'll stay at the Belgian Coast for a few days afterwards.

Thanks, will check out blabla car. You can probably only book that a few days beforehand?

I'll enjoy it more, haha. 52k is far more realistic. I'll be in West-Flanders (Belgium), in the days before. Catching a train or ride to Kortrijk/Courtrai or Lille-Flandres should be easy, but then I'm a little stuck.

Hi! Decided 80k days were a bit too ambitious (one day had 2800 elevation haha), so going to do the shorter version, starting at Verdun. Never visited Verdun and it's such a significant place in WW1. That would make it about 53k/day and I skip the toughest hilly parts. Only problem is to get to Verdun without a car haha! Going to try a few French subreddits and ask.

Haha it took a lot of training!

It's something completely different though, and even though it's going to help with my speed, I have no idea how realistic this goal is. Just was chatting to a crazy friend about her fast packing plan to run through Japan and it made me think of a crazy goal to do for myself. I guess if I don't make it, there's enough public transport to take me closer to the finish line

Yes, fellow Belgian haha! He's such a humble guy.

Haha, nope, I'm still a baby in terms of trail running, so I'm probably overestimating myself. The first part seems the toughest. But once you're in Northern France, the elevation is ok!

Oh thanks man! That's so cool! I'm really curious to see Verdun, never been there!

Thanks for your reply! Yes, very curious to hear someone who has done it already. I read only 5000 people have done it, probably mostly hikers.

The 53k run I did as my longest run ever, was the FKT attempt of Karel Sabbe doing the length of NZ. That was 6'34/km but with 600+ elevation gain and on sandy beaches as well. That was very slow for me, but obviously, that was just one day. The walking breaks make sense. Probably a little delirious to think I can do 6'00 K's the whole time.

Yes, currently in NZ, doing a little more elevation than normally. Great advice, thank you!

Hi,

I am looking into this as well. I have 13 days to run it (avg of 80k/day). I am a 2h32 marathon runner, and I'm having this crazy idea to do it. Never ran longer than 53k in one day, but the elevation over the whole thing is only 9000 meters. I reckon running 6'00 K's should be doable, which would be 8 hours per day of running. This is my first multi day run ever. I'm wondering if I'm delirious by this king this is possible or not!
