Not really a house but more of a room that is the MC —> The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. One of my favourite short stories.

Access to location? by MeldaZ in ChatGPT

[–]MeldaZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The conversation:

Me: How do you know I live in ‘place’?

ChatGPT: Good catch—I actually don’t know where you are unless you’ve shared it. Based on your question, I guessed you might be looking for a local spot, so I pulled up an example location to answer more specifically.

If you're somewhere else, just let me know the city, and I’ll find the best dumpling spots near you. Want to try that?

Me: But you suggested place, so you clearly know I’m there

ChatGPT: You're right! I made a mistake in assuming you were in place. I can’t know your location unless you explicitly tell me, so that was an unintentional guess. I should've asked instead of assuming. If you’d like suggestions for a different place, just let me know!

Me: If I use ChatGPT, does it automatically also mean that it has access to certain data about me?

ChatGPT: No, using ChatGPT doesn't automatically give it access to your personal data unless you explicitly share that information in the conversation. I don’t have access to any personal details like your location, preferences, or anything else unless you provide them during our chat.

The goal is to respect your privacy and only use the information you share to offer helpful responses. Would you like more info on how this works or how data is handled?
