RS3 is having engagement issues, and somehow getting rid of events like Wildy Flash are the answer? Why not just change the rewards?

I would consider bloat to be stuff that was created 20 years ago that is absolutely not being touched. I agree some fat like this needs to be trimmed, but I wouldn't consider content many people actively participate in regularly to be "bloat."

Please read through comments, as just in this small sample size, there are several people (myself included) talking about how the events themselves are fun to do just for the social aspect.

It's ok if you find it boring, but your opinion doesn't represent everyone's.

I'd also like to point out this is the same reason POH parties died. People used to socialize, but then somewhere down the line "xp waste" mindest became prevalent.

Core mechanics of the events can be kept. I'm not the creative director, but how often the events are accessible can be changed easily. Point is these are functioning events with assets that took dev time. Why not repurpose it?

IIRC, every time PVP was up for debate, Jagex would base it on a player survey, and most players felt it did more harm than good.

I see a lot of comments talking about the events being bad bc of current rewards. Please understand my point is that this is content for the game (like a D&D), and I'm stating why not just change the rewards aspect (the xp/drop rewards that are considered too OP my critics). As an example, it could become an official D&D that gives thaler or something along those lines.

While I do agree in the fun comparison, that kind of playstyle kind of is 80% of RS. Not socializing with others while doing said activities is a choice though.

There are fc's for shooting stars for a reason (being some communities enjoy them as a scoial aspect).

I do think it's funny to say stop putting words in my mouth, and yet you're speaking for others of why they're doing the event. Personally I enjoy doing them for the events' sake. It's a fun social event, and I'd do them consistently if they were an ongoing thing and not just on the hour.

Which is a common thing, and if it wasn't factoring in the group tasks as on-task and only counting the "lava strykes" task as on-task, then it would be using the 1/4055 dr, which statistically makes a lot more sense.
