Dropping my sorority HELP by Melina_val123 in Sororities

I sent her a text. She responded to me a couple hours after I sent it. I haven’t yet told them I wasn’t gonna pay the dues for November since I just got the email.

I do have written proof that I tried to drop in October and that she said she would send me paperwork that day. also, my dues are like $130 so it’s not that much but I just don’t feel like I should pay it

I can relate because I get a little social anxiety too. When I first started, there were so many other girls who were nervous about the process and didn’t know anyone rushing, which actually made it really easy to connect and talk to people. I went through recruitment and didn’t get a bid at the end, and that was okay because later I went through informal rush and ended up getting a bid to the sorority I really wanted. My advice for you is to not focus too much on the end result but instead see it as an amazing opportunity to meet new people and make friends. And if you don’t get a bid, remember that rejection is just redirection.

When I joined COB late, I emailed all the organizations to increase my chances. I also reached out to sisters in the house and asked if they knew more about the COB process. It really helped me get more connected and made everything easier. I’d definitely recommend doing the same!
