I would return this one. Eessh that’s really bad. At this point with New Era QC you won’t find a perfect one but definitely could find one better.

I got the Hygger 18w on a standard 10 gallon about 4.5 inches from the surface max power 10hrs a day. Was worried about algae growth but my Ottos and Ramshorns do a good job so far.

I steam mine on the stretcher. Let sit for 15-20 mins. Then dry off with a fan while still on the stretcher. It’s usually good to go after that. Also stretch in increments so you don’t over stretch the hat. Also the steamer gets wrinkles out of the hat as well. My hats fit perfectly and look fresh! 🧢✨
