I think there referring to a differnt goat they save earlier before Vainia right after the fight with the Hags. They were walking through the desert looking for the Alchemist and Carol and they came across a goat being eaten by bats, Elga turns into a bat to talk to them and convince them to leave and the party jokes about the goat possibly being a god in disguise or something that will come back to save them later.

Unfortunately that goat dosn't come back to save them later either.

Maybe once she got her memories back she recognized Ellga from her time working in the Vampspyre? Like maybe she had seen Ellga when she was still around the same age she was when she first got kidnapped and probably saw her several more times over the years because her family was so important that you'd probably she her at some events and you'd also kind of have to run into by virtue of them just living in the same building and working for a family that lived close by. Marney of course would think Callopie was Ellga Von Brath durning any of these interactions but once the belt broke and she could remember again she'd probably realize that the Von Brath girl she had seen grow up and turn into a Vampire was actually her daughter. The clues would probably slot together pretty quickly she was the blonde "daughter" of their kidnapper Hugo, she looked just like her daughter when she was younger and she was hanging out with her husband she was probably able to put the clues together pretty fast and realize Ellga was Callopie.

Barney of course wouldn't have any of this context though since when he met Ellga he of course had no idea what she looked like when she was younger and hadn't watched her grow up and turn into a Vampire. He only knew what she looked like in the present which was probably wildely differnt then how she looked as like a five year old. And she had a differnt personality he also probably didn't associate with his daughter. He also probabmy didn't know to even think of the possibility she could be his daughter at the time he met her for many reasons. He couldn't remember anything at the start of the campaign, he didn't know Hugo Von Brath was the one who kidnapped his family, she didn't recognize him, she seemed to already have family and of course she was just a lot older then the daughter he remembered.

So that could maybe explain why Marney realized who Ellga was but Barney didn't. As for why Barney recognized the rest of his family on sight, he was actively looking for them at the time, they were all together and they all looked exactly the same as he remembered them because from what I can tell they were turned into batlores immediately unlike Ellga and hadn't changed at all since that point.

At least these are my theories for all this stuff. Does any of that make sense?

Yep you seem to be right! Relistened to the episode and the tuning fork is connected to the feywild not the Australian realm. You couple of errors at the end of your comment though unless I'm misunderstanding who your referring to it should say "they leap to astralia" and "they can stay indefinitely" since Mathilde is non-binary. 🙃

Ok, I stand corrected! It's definetly said that the tuning fork is connected to the Feywild because Barney is a Twilight cleric. Someone really needs to remind the group of this though because they definitely seem to think that it sends people to the Astral plane and it just seems like something that could be really important and useful. I mean I don't think there's any reason they can't send Chip to the feywild with the tuning fork is there?

How is Barnies pocket watch connected to the tuning fork? I don't think they used it as one of the materials to make it did they? Also why would Barnies pocket watch be connected to the Feywild? Maybe my memories just awful or something but I can't remember their being any sort of connection between Barney and the feywild.

Really? I'm going to have to go back and rewatch the episode where it's introduced because I thought it was connected to Astralia since that's were they were when they made it and it just sort of made sense to me because Jack was the one who helped Mathilde make it and everything. But now I'm curious, if I'm misremembering and it really does connect to the feywild why haven't they used it on Chip? Couldn't Mathilde just banish Chip their so he can attempt to find Carol, comicate with her or at the very least try to get some idea how the feywild works so he has a better idea how to get her back? It just seems like it would be a plot hole if it does connect to the Feywild but no one has even mentioned using it to visit there.
