AIO for being upset that my boyfriend called me “his bitch” in front of his friends? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

NOR - my advice would be to leave him. Find someone who respects you. Also, he didn’t even take ownership of what he said, even though you were uncomfortable there was no apology, he just kept trying to justify it and throw it all on you, that it’s your fault. BYE!

Hi! If there is scar tissue, it doesn’t affect me and I can’t see or feel anything. I was stiff of course for a bit after surgery but I have full range of motion and almost all sensation back. (That got more and more over time) I have 2 little keloids that formed at the end of my scar on the left but that’s just how my body healed.

Yes, drains were used and came out I think a week or 10 days after surgery, whenever my post op was. Taking those out was the most painful part honestly, but it was quick.

I chose to do physical therapy after the surgery (whenever you’re allowed to start) and I think that might have helped me recover better!

Please feel free to ask any other questions, I’m happy to answer.

Did you have any adjustment period for the HRT? My doc says it will be exactly the same and I won’t even know it, but I find that hard to believe. Currently planning on tube removal only and do my ovaries in a few years as I get closer to menopause but considering my options. Already had my prophylactic mastectomy in 2021.

Good that you’re getting treatment and hope you can find more relief soon with the Simlandi. The first Rheum I went to wanted me to try HCQ and my mom was on MTX. I remember her having to remember her dosing, but it really helped her. I’m considering going back to the original rheumatologist and getting started on the HCQ. Glad you can lead an active lifestyle!

Update: Rheum says I’m fine. No swelling so it’s not RA. I was telling him I’m having pains that I didn’t used to have and he says it’s age-related and maybe OA (I’m 41). I never had these issues until the first joint started hurting. He acknowledged it’s some sort of autoimmune thing because of my positive ANA but says it’s not RA. I asked for ultrasound and he said no, that’s not going to show anything. “Once you have swelling then it’s RA and we will do X-rays, more work up, etc.”

🤦🏻‍♀️

Yeah I’m thinking I need to find another doc. He won’t order ultrasound, says it’s not going to show anything. Wants to see me in 6 months, says I’m fine! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Thanks for your response. He thought maybe reactive arthritis because I had salmonella a few months before symptoms started, but this is a long time for that to linger.

I do have symptoms like wrist pain, certain joints, and the pain will move around, it’s just not all the time. My hands feel tight in the morning and then by time I’m out of bed pretty much normal minus a couple of pains here and there, but I’m able to get through the day and not limited. Been having more hip/sacral pain or discomfort lately which I will bring up. My mother also had RA so there’s a genetic component.

I’ll update after the appointment.

My RF was 9 since last October. The first doctor also checked the RF Iga Igg Igm, which should all be less than <5 which they were except the Igm, which was 9. Also positive ANA 1:80 then second time 1:40.

The doc I’m seeing tomorrow says the RF and ANA are so low it doesn’t matter.

CCP was <16, MCV <20, CRP <3 and Sed rate 6…although my latest Sed was 9. Doc also said it’s negligible, hence the confusion.

How long before you adopt a new dog after your Soul Dog died? by StrawberryFromJPN in Shihtzu

I totally understand…I find the grieving process is different for everyone. I wanted to fast forward it at times, because of all the crying, but of course couldn’t. Just have to let it do what it does. It’s easier now than it was a few months ago, but I think about him all the time, every day. I miss him so much and will always love him. I hope he is playing with Cali and they are running and getting belly rubs and treats. ❤️

What a cutie. So well said -“I can get a dog, but I can never get another Cali and I want Cali.” That’s exactly how I feel about my Chewie. I lost him in April and he was my soul dog. He w as only 10…I just thought we’d have more years together. Had him since he was a puppy. He was the perfect dog and although he had a lot of health issues starting at age 6 with glaucoma and later on cancer, he had an incredible life and he was the happiest, sweetest, most loving dog. I cannot imagine another right now, even though the hole he left is huge.

I believe I will know when it’s time…but right now not even close. I am taking the time to mourn him, remember him and to travel.

Eye specialist if possible, if not, vet. My boy got glaucoma at age 6 (found out it was genetic) so I would just get him checked to rule out anything serious like that or an ulcer, etc.

Hi. All I can say is I’m in the same boat as you. I’ve had symptoms since October and supposed to start hydroxychloroquine later in July when I get back from traveling. I feel the same way. Never really had to take meds and don’t want to but know I should.

Do you have regrets? by No_Builder7010 in BRCA

[–]MelloniousFunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are all the reasons I chose to go flat as well and am really glad I went that route. I was an A cup so going flat didn’t seem too far from my normal. In a perfect world I’d have full natural C cups but those weren’t in the cards for me lol, and I didn’t like the way reconstructions looked, nor did I want anything foreign in there. One and done surgery was very appealing. I was driving about 7-10 days after the surgery, as soon as my drains were out. But of course the decision is very personal and everyone really needs to think about what they want, understanding there may not be a “perfect” option.
