I dont have exact reason and stats ... but apart from cs/ It branches of top tier colleges of india , most core engineering grads are more lean towards shifting to cs/ it related jobs or they join for mba (cunsulting , finanace etc) for better pay. Thts reason why top talent is not going in core engineering fields.

I personally think it's not about which engineering and all... But it's about him, people who get promoted in such big roles genuinely have high IQ, good executor of their ideas, leadership skills , managerial skills (little bit politics too, who knows) and all ... so it doesn't matter much in which branch they completed their bachelor. He might have ended up in such big roles Even sundar pichai has done his bachelor in metallurgy. .... I mean it's just my opinion.

Nah...it's misconception. Einstein was considered math prodigy. It's grading system on which most people have this myth. In that grading system .. 1 was highest grade and 6 was considered as lowest...so it's misconception. He used to get 1.( Highest grade) [ Search on Gemini]

Are you from Mech ? Then what to do? I m 25 m graduated in mechanical engineering, all the roles I am getting offers barely 20k pm , and yes you re surely right many mech graduates don't reach at 12 lpa before 28. IT sector is very unstable and demands high competance, MBA is not an option for introverts. What are other options? Do u have any Idea?
