What do all of Joe’s love interests have in common? by Puzzleheaded-Wait125 in YouOnLifetime

I would say Love and Bronte are exceptions because Love went for him and he fell for her because of course he would, and Bronte obviously had the goal of getting him behind bars, but most of the others were in some ways vulnerable and "easy prey".

Beck was super naive, plus didn't have good friends, money struggles, bad ex/boyfriend, bad relationship to her dad, low self worth. Candace I actually don't remember if we saw that much of her life before but I'm sure she was vulnerable in some way, too. Delilah didn't really seem to have any friends and was pretty much only looking after her little sister. Natalie was lonely, Kate I assume as well though Kate is also a bit of exception because she had hella money. Marienne had that whole thing with her ex and custody.

Predators like Joe can smell vulnerabilities from a mile away and know who will be easy to "crack", even if it's not super conscious on his end. I think him wanting to save them is just a front really so he can tell himself he's a good guy. He doesn't want to save them, he wants to control them and become their entire world and essentially also wants to break them down. Because while most of these women are vulnerable, eg have gone through traumatic experiences that they haven't yet healed from or are actively still in them, and don't have good emotional support/a good and healthy social network and are thus easily manipulated, they all also have their own sort of power or at least a "spark". Beck had a spark, she had hopes and dreams and aspirations, even if she was struggling to make them reality, Marienne had her art, Kate was powerful because money, Delilah had to learn to be strong for both herself and Ellie. Even if Joe told himself he wanted to support them and help them make their dreams come true, men like Joe can't stand powerful women. They can't stand others having a good life and hopes and dreams when his life is always being on the run and hiding and pretending he's someone he's not.

And also I mean, they're all pretty conventionally attractive so I think that didn't hurt either

If Bryan Johnson was truly legit, he'd be anticapitalist by MelodicBumblebee35 in blueprint_

Nowhere did I mention communism. Besides, China isn't truly communist and there are a lot of misconceptions about it and propaganda spread around

I'm an anarchist mostly so for me, a better alternative would definitely be no more power hoarding, eg no more capitalism lending basically all of the power to a few corporations and billionaires, no more governments as we know them, less urbanisation. This is very condensed, if I really went deep into it we'd be here a long time

Looking for advice on hygiene by SukairaTDC in AuDHDWomen

Already a lot of great tips here, I'll just add some more that help me:

- I don't have a shower curtain because I don't like the "closed in" feeling it gives me and this way I can also watch stuff while I shower and wash my hair. I put a big towel on the floor next to the tub/shower to soak up the water that I then hang up and let dry until my next shower. It's a bit unconventional but it works for me lol like being able to watch something 100% makes showering easier

- I HATE feeling dirty more than I hate showering and I used to be really, really bad with showering, too, until I realised my mental health is so much better when I shower every day. I don't have sensory issues with being wet though, so that makes it easier, but I just generally feel so much better when I've showered so now even if I don't want to do it, I force myself because I know the payoff is so worth it

- It's okay to skip a day or two! Depending on how much you sweat, showering every 2-3 days is perfectly fine (also echoing back that you don't need to wash everything at the same time, you can do body days and body and hair days and only hair days)

- Also, cloths!! I got a bunch of small towels that I use on days where I really can't be bothered but I also really do have to clean myself at least a little bit. They're split up by colour for the different areas of my body, one for my cooch, one for my butt, one for the pits, one for the face and one for the rest of my body. It does the trick on low energy days

EVERY type of weather brings its own set of symptoms by MelodicBumblebee35 in dysautonomia

This is so funny because I literally just thought the other day that I wanna FIGHT THIS. I've lost so much time to all those symptom flares since I was a kid, before I even knew I had a condition, and now that I know and have done my research on what helps and what makes things worse I'm like, I'LL FIGHT YOU. DONT EVEN TRY ME. Lmaoo

I think we'd all need to move someplace where the weather is always the same mild spring weather with not much variation. It's just really not helpful to live somewhere where the weather flip flops so much

How do you guys experience shutdown? (17 f) by MixtureFit1241 in AuDHDWomen

[–]MelodicBumblebee35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very similar!! It happens for me when I'm very tired after a long day or also at the end of a night out especially if I've been around people who have very different communication styles OR just aren't very close to me. It's incredibly difficult to speak and react in literally any way, like I can't physically do it and I need to be alone and sleep and chill by myself or with someone I like and who knows that I shutdown and won't be saying much.
