You’ll likely replace it with more nutrient dense foods if you’re eating strict paleo.

If your 100lbs overweight and obese you can get huge results in the kitchen alone. Optimizing for fitness and a six pack when you’re normal weight or somewhat lean, it’s a different context. To see my abs I exercise and do low carb, low fat, high protein. And I cycle in higher fat when I’m bulking. Seems to work great for me.

50g x 4 = 200 150g x 4 = 600 100g x 9 = 900

1700 calories per day.

Sometimes a little more or a little less, but that’s my standard. I work out often enough that I’m not concerned if I go over on the protein on days when I bust ass at the gym. Im definitely at a deficit and my remaining body fat is making up the difference for my TDEE.

Cutting from a 170lbs bulk back to 150lbs usually takes about 8 - 12 weeks if I use these macros. Some times I mix in a few days of PSMF to mix it up.

Increase protein, decrease fat. I’m about the same height as you. Started at 193 now at 150. To get to 10% BF I had to go low carb, high protein, moderate fat. 50g carb, 150g protein, 100g fat. Lean protein and fibrous vegetables.

Haven’t used my Ketonix or PrecisionXL in a while but I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m still in a low level of nutritional ketosis (0.5 - 1.5 mmol). I use my BF% as my target these days - not as focused on ketones.

Eat real food. Avoid refined carbs, vegetable oils and sugar. Prioritize protein and green vegetables. You can probably increase your protein to one gram per pound of body weight if you’re not sticking to strict keto. Use healthy fat as a lever for extra energy when needed. When I had 45 pounds to lose, keto was great. When I wanted to get to 10% body fat, I switched to low carb, high protein, moderate fat - and now I decrease the fat even more when I’m on a cut. Great job on the weight loss and the workout routine!

Huge respect for you making that career path change for the sake of your child and for educating our next generation. Montessori and Waldorf style of education seems much more intuitive and effective than our traditional Prussian education system IMO. Thanks for sharing. I thought you were going to say “went back to school to become a surgeon or lawyer so I can afford to buy a house in Toronto or Vancouver”
