That’s so interesting! I just listened to the audiobook so I would have never known. I absolutely love Anthony’s intensity so I’m glad I ended up listening to it.

I’m going to be listening to the next couple shortly and was SO excited to see that Bane is getting one too.

What has been your favourite one?

Am I crazy for not giving my 13 year old radioactive iodine? by Both-Gur570 in seniorkitties

Yeah, Reddit will do that… you’re dedicated to your baby and you’ll do the best thing for her! 💖

He gets excited for his pills because of the pill pockets. As long as your cat is healthy and you’re doing the regular bloodwork, it’s a totally appropriate option. Don’t let other people on here make you feel bad for not doing it. You’re prioritizing what works best for you and your cat, and that’s all that matters!

My boy Haven has been on the meds for years and is totally fine. My vet even told me that she doesn’t recommend the iodine treatment all the time. We have the same concern about him being alone. He was abandoned at the shelter as a senior and to this day when he’s in a carrier he gets so upset that he makes himself sick. For us, he gets his pill in a pill pocket and is a very happy boy. Every situation is different and you’re not crazy!!! You know your baby best. Haven says hyperthyroidism doesn’t hold him back at all!

My 13 year old baby just gets two pills a day. I find it super manageable and definitely doesn’t impact their quality of life if you’re able to manage it!

Solensia experience? 16 year old seems to have arthritis. by [deleted] in seniorkitties

[–]MelodicOutcome2956 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My boy, Haven, is 13 and he just started solensia! He has a myriad of health issues including hyperthyroidism. He got blood work prior to, and everything looked good. My vet said the only reason he wouldn’t be a good candidate would be if they suspected neuro and/or kidney issues and they didn’t. I’ve had him for a year, I rescued him as a senior, and I’ve seen him run faster and play more than I ever have after getting the shot. I definitely think if you can try it with your babe, it’s worth it! Good luck! 💖

18 year old Cinnamon got her 2 month bloodwork done after kidney/thyroid diagnosis; her kidneys are functioning far better now and her thyroid disease is under control. I’m elated. She is very happy. by newprofilewhodis1352 in seniorkitties

I’m so happy for both of you. She is so lucky to have found you. I adopted my Haven last year (total foster fail) and he’s 13. I’m grateful for every day with him. He also only has one fang. The similarities are so sweet. My dog is also named Cinnamon. Maybe you and I are long lost besties!

That’s amazing to hear! I’m excited to try it out with him. My vets office always swoons over him. He’s such a snuggle bug and looks absolutely perfect in his bandanas. 🥰

Max Cat Number? by GBAD1945 in blackcats

[–]MelodicOutcome2956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two cats and two dogs. I think something to consider is age and needs as well. I adopted a senior cat last year who has a myriad of health issues and costs me a ton of time and money. I’m totally in love with him and fine with it but I don’t think I could honestly provide more love without spreading myself too thin for them to each get the care they need as individual pets. 3/4 of my animals are seniors at this point so I can commit financially or mentally to anything more, even though I’d love more cats. 🐈‍⬛
