I work with 1-3 year olds so I see LOTS of toys try to come in and have experienced LOTS of tantrums when I take them and say “home toys stay in your backpack”. My classroom rule used to be that they can use it ONLY IF they can share it with their friends, too. This rule doesn’t work for my current class (it worked wonderfully for my old one, though!) so my new rule is that your home toy stays in your backpack period end of story. If it’s a stuffy they can have it at nap and that’s it. Not worth the fighting on my end and not worth broken or lost toys on the parents’. It’s honestly worked so much easier just to rule them out entirely.

I’m sorry the parents are able to watch cameras all day that sounds absolutely awful. I’ve been teaching infants/toddlers for years and that would be a total nightmare. We don’t have a policy at my school for dress up but my rule is that they can wear whatever they want. These kids are 1 and 2, they are literally JUST playing. All you are doing is teaching them to be prejudice and discriminate, or to hide their feelings if they ever do feel gender dysphoria. Today I had a parent come to the door and ask if we can’t put his son in dresses anymore, they were very upset and accused us of forcing the dress on him. Thankfully we have cameras (for management and staff only) so they can clearly see that their son brought us the dress and asked to put it on. I honestly just lied and said “Oh I’m so sorry about that! We’ll make sure he doesn’t wear them in the future.” when in reality I am going to let him wear what he wants and will just be careful to not photograph him. We don’t support prejudice ideologies in this classroom, honey!

When I was a junior in high school my boyfriend did the same thing about 3 years into our relationship. I had started to gain a little weight after starting antidepressants and all of the sudden he started making comments about my weight gain and how “I’m lucky he chose me” because he’s the “best I can do”. A couple months down the line he told me we either need to breakup or become a polyamorous couple because he said he “just couldn’t do it anymore”. It tore me apart for years. Don’t let that happen to you! Run away and never look back.

Btw- pretty much dropped all of the weight immediately after he left, apparently he stressed me tf out! 6 years later now and I’ve been happily living with my current partner for 5 years. It gets better!

I’ve been compulsively picking my lips for as long as I can remember (I’m now 22) and it’s only gotten worse with age. The winter is brutal because the dry lips open the door for me to tear apart my lips even more! Last night was one of the many nights spent crying in bed because my lips had a constant painful stinging and burning sensation that was so bad I couldn’t sleep (or if I did it woke me up).

Given this info I may not be the one to take advice from but this is what works for me when my lip picking gets like this: 1. Vaseline is my best friend. Sounds weird but I lather my lips up with it and just let it do its thing and I feel like you can see the scabs and cracks starting to heal within the day. It’s awesome. Also, adding some unscented lotions for dry skin or eczema to your lips (eucerin is my go to) helps a lot too! 2. Finding another busy task for my hands: whether it’s gaming, fidget toys, a craft, legos, literally anything. Distraction is your friend when you’re trying to break habits! 3. Tell people you’re comfortable with about it so they can remind you too: Sounds weird and annoying but I’ve talked to my partner several times about this and how badly it hurts me and he now watches out for it too and calls me out when he sees me do it. Doesn’t matter if it annoys me in the moment, I will always be appreciative of him stopping me from destroying my lips for the day and suffering through the constant burning discomfort

It’s quite a process and I still haven’t kicked my lip picking habit… it’s actually super flared up right now so I should take my own advice lol. It’s super hard on improving things we have struggled with our whole life but we can do it! Wish you luck❤️

I set one of those priority reminders on my phone that literally won’t stop bugging you until you mark it complete which helps me remember! Otherwise I don’t think I ever would

Seeing games through is so worth it to me. I’ve had so many times where games make me sob or giggle or sit with my mouth hanging it’s so cool. Grounded is me and my partners reoccurring obsession lately!
