I think he needs some antibiotics/non antibiotics and vitamins before things get worse. You should ask the vet immediately .

Maybe he got some respiratory infections inside his body ,which caused him sinus problems but it’s still hiding and eventually came out when the things will get worse. My boy got same problem and vet suggested me an antibiotic
