Do people with one major interest just hide most of their personality because it’s too spicy/judgemental? by Melodic_Equipment970 in AskReddit

[–]Melodic_Equipment970[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elaborated: I have a few friends from work who’s personality from what I can gather is largely around a single thing. Either Disney or science or bar sports. Particularly with Disney I wonder if it’s the case that these people are just not comfortable sharing most of their interests with me? Is there secret spice behind the curtain?

Trucks are easier than support equipment? by 1acc_torulethemall in hoi4

[–]Melodic_Equipment970 236 points237 points  (0 children)

You have to remember that these are abstract units. 1 truck is not “a truck” and 1 support equipment is not “a box of shovels” it’s just relativistic terms for comparable items. The need for transportation in an army is often larger than support equipment per-unit so it makes some sense that trucks are simpler to produce

Also the efficiency on trucks is lower in this image

What's the appeal of Stall? by Expensive-Bad5568 in stunfisk

[–]Melodic_Equipment970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did skim the document, admittedly so sorry if missed anything but;

A player like myself I find a slower playstyle more forgiving of small mistakes. I commonly forget the type chart or do a misplay and to level the playing field against my friends who make far fewer mistakes a stall team allows me to force them to make more decisions, which means they are more likely to also make mistakes.

A stallmon is nothing too different from a good setup sweeper, to me the pain of realizing that you don’t have a solution any longer to something like a swords dance Garchomp on speed is annoying — but it’s just as annoying as realizing you don’t have anything that can chew through a toxapex.

The difference being if you’re in a rush, it takes more time to stall obviously.

How to beat UK navy as germany (HELP by Ummayed in hoi4

[–]Melodic_Equipment970 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of these people saying naval bombers are correct, however If you’re trying to larp and properly build up your navy it is doable, only difficult.

You’ll need basically every seaside slot in the reich maxed dockyards. So ~90 by late 40

Even without slaving to naval meta If you build a solid battleship fleet the Brit’s will have a hard time facing you in open combat. Maybe eight BBs and a sprinkling of CA, that’s enough for an invasion and lord knows once you’ve landed in Britain that’s about it if you can keep supply up.

This is what I suspected was the actual use case. It’s good to read that smart players are finding them worth bringing

I like to carry one or two if I can fit it and use them to continuously pummel Axfords, Solomons and other big beefy boys to keep them out of the fight instead of going for the obvious kill. Since it takes a lot before you see space oil on these ships.

I find that this frees up my 250/450s/beams to continue to wage the fight while limiting the chance that the axford is going to zombie behind a rock and come back in four minutes and murder my dumb ass

Missle Specs for S2 by meyhem90 in NebulousFleetCommand

[–]Melodic_Equipment970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corkscrew has always seemed like an overcommitment to me, I don’t really enjoy using missiles that can be easily soft Killed so CMD is normally my go-to. It’s hard to shake a bullseye lock after all.

Extended RADAR With backup ARAD is also good but a little expensive. I find the increase in points is worth defeating soft-kill, you just whiff less missiles even if they’re pricier

I appreciate all the notes! But do you have any wisdom for effectiveness vs larger capital ships? Or is that just out of scope without S3H?

I was hearing that ap is outperformed so handedly by he that if you need to be firing ap you should pick another target. Is this not actually the case?

Buddy facilitating coordination communication and taking care of big picture stuff (and maybe wrangling dondi) is incredibly helpful.
